I feel sorry for Mets fans....I followed what went on in the STL game today. 1 for 25 with RISP.

My goodness....I've heard of light hitting teams but the Metropolitans take it to a whole 'nother level. At least they came away with the win.

Hmm...so that means the San Diego Braves, our AAA affiliate have nothing either.

The bigger clown comment is Aaron Boone saying that Harper knows the plate better than most players in the league. Theoretically, I can kinda see it but the guy's only 22 years old! Let's not talk about his plate discipline like he's Tony Gwynn or something like that.

Just shows that even former ballplayers can get caught up in the hype of the young stars of the game today.

Boone is powerless to Harper's show hair. If he's complaining about the strike zone on an almost nightly basis it seams he must know what he's talking about.

Bryce being young is immaterial. For example, he leads MLB in BB%, I would certainly say he "knows the plate better than most players".

Harper's a douche, but the strike zone was really wide in the Dodgers/Nationals game, even by today's huge standards.

That home plate umpire certainly was generous.

Eh, I think if the Ump had been generous to only one side of the plate instead of both sides it wouldn't have been so bad.

Speaking of Greinke not being "that tough"...he'll get the Mets at Citi Field his next time out. Then if he is still streaking, he most likely gets to do battle with Trout and the Angels on 7/31 at Dodgers Stadium with an outside shot at 59+. If he's still streaking at that point but still needs more innings, he gets the Phillies after that in Philly.

Not to get ahead of myself here because it's theoretically possible for the Mets to score off of him, but it's fun to think about and the schedule's shaping up for Greinke. Imagine trying to put Trout down 3 or 4 times with a mid-50's scoreless inning streak riding on it.

Watch the Mets will put up a crooked number, say 5 or so runs on him. As a baseball fan I want him to continue this dominance as long as possible though. I wonder what's harder trying to break Dimaggio's streak or Hersheiser's?
