I had to Google this as I couldn't figure out who #45 was.

Billy Burns swings at first pitch 48.1% of the time. Out of the lead off spot. That's cray.

            And it's working good.

Burns for ROY is one reason I'll keep watching this year.

A's broadcast after Burns led off with a single. They also said 4 other players have a higher swing rate then that but didn't name names.

One of the stat guys probably knows where to see this stat split somewhere. I'd be interested too.

                    lol, Jays game today....

2 players get injured, a starting pitcher becomes a pinch runner, and your catcher plays 2B......

From one of the beat writers.

"#Athletics Billy Burns now 33x68 when putting first pitch in play after that bullet off #Dogers Brett Anderson. That's a .485 average."

And pitchers keep throwing him strikes first pitch.

Edit: notice this idiot beat writer can't even get a hashtag right? Constantly does stuff like that.

Bautista's injury is just a cramp

However, the Blue Jays slugger told reporters following the game that it was nothing more than a cramp and he expects to be fine on Wednesday.
As for Travis...That shoulder isn't going to get better til the end of the year I suspect. This puts the Jays in a situation without a leadoff hitter if he's out for an extended amount of time.

Please.....no more Soriano. It was bad enough we had to deal with one, now we have another. And this one can't pitch to save his life. Meatball city.

Must be the lady beat writer then?

I was hoping it was a site...I wanted to see Trout's first pitch numbers relative to the rest of the league as he's a notorious taker. On the other hand, Freddie Freeman always hacks at the first pitch so curious what his results are too.

Another grievance with Fangraphs site design- I know they have this data but I can't find it.

Why does it have to be "the lady beat writer" she has a name Susan Slusser (i'm not even an A's fan and I know who she is LOL)

Anywho, she got the tag right cept well, I never heard of the dogers.

It's not one of the ladies. The two that cover the A's are excellent I think. Jane Lee is the other one. Susan gets the most press cause she was president of the writers association recently.

And this page might have the info. I'm on my tablet and can't really mouse over each category.
