And baseball is probably the only sport where the actual stadium is interesting.

There are famous stadiums/arenas in other sports (Lambeau, MSG, etc.), but the various dimensions, idiosyncrasies, views, etc. are unmatched in other sports IMO.

Same goes with the pride people seem to have with their alma mater. Something I never care about either, but that also plays into who people cheer for.
Collegiate athletics is entirely American. I don't believe there is another country on the planet where the universities have varsity athletics.
My favorite teams are better than your favorite teams

Ya. Closest I can think of is junior hockey(CHL) in Canada, but even that isn't anywhere close to as popular in Canada, as college basketball/football is in USA. And it's not college teams for junior hockey either,it's actual cities.

Hisashi Iwakuma with the no hitter! There hasn't been a lot to cheer for this year with the M's but this is pretty awesome.

While we're rambling about other sports, Iwakuma just threw a no-hitter.

Well, that happened quietly. Congrats to him.

Good, means nobody jinxed it! Haha.

Also the first complete game he's thrown since he came over to MLB. That's one way to do it.

First no-hitter in the AL since Felix in 2012. That's kind of hard to believe.

All 15 home teams won last night. First time in MLB history such a feat accomplished on same day.

Pretty cool, but it's only been possible since 1998 when the league expanded to 30. I wonder how many times in history that all the home teams won on a given day, with at least 10 games taking place.

Why exactly haven't the mariners ever traded Felix? Not like they're gonna be doing anything big anytime soon, why waste him on bad Mariners teams? He could go down as one of best pitchers all time to never even pitch in the playoffs.

...you trade Felix and you're asking for fans not to come to the ballpark.

Can't believe I was there to see the no hitter. It was so intense, especially because my seats were right behind the dugout so watching Kuma walk back out to the mound was such an awesome feeling.
