I think Mike Trout is worth $200,000,000. As matter of fact I think he is worth $300M and more. Kershaw too.

I think he's implying that athletes are overpaid, which is an issue that is probably too big and off topic for the hot stove thread so I didn't reply.

Obviously the whole "no one deserves that much". But by the market, Harper will probably get $450 mil.

I think that if a thread organically detours toward a topic outside of the original explicit boundaries of said thread there's nothing wrong with exploring it.

But I'm new here, so what do I know.

The Dodgers have contacted Johnny Cueto. They've also moved on from talks with the Yankees about Andrew Miller.

If Jason Heyward does go to DC I wonder where Michael Taylor ends up? Cubs, Brewers, Mets, Phillies, Padres, Indians, Tigers, Angels, Royals, Reds all need a CF/Corner outfield type player. I think he's be a nice fit with the Cubs.

The Padres now have a surplus of catchers on their 40 man roster (4).

We know Norris will probably get moved who will be the other?

I don't see the Phillies being a fit. Odubel Herrera is our center fielder, Aaron Altherr in right field, and a competition in left field between Cody Asche, Peter Bourjos and Tyler Goeddel.

Is the consensus still pretty much that he'll be a Yankee?
I know his favourite player is Mickey Mantle and he's mentioned before that he was NY fan growing up.
I'm wondering if that's still the case.

I really hope DC does not land Heyward. I would rather not see him tearing up the Braves throughout the year.

Don't worry. You'll be seeing a lot of teams doing that anyway.

If the prices that Heyward is getting offered are accurate, I will take Taylor.

Young, controllable and loads of potential. Potential 30/30 guy if he continues to get stronger and develop at the plate, which I am assuming will happen. Like a better version of BJ Upton. Also a great defensive CF which we desperately need and comes at a MUCH MUCH lower cost.

I was reading that there's a chance Taylor will stay. Werth has 2 years left and Taylor can get another year of seasoning in AAA then rotate in with Werth in 2017 and take over after his contract is done.

Jason Heyward has made a decision. No team announced yet.
