Much needed power lefty for the bullpen.

Also, he has the same hometown as David Price.

I'm starting to hope Price goes elsewhere. Nearly $500M in 3 aging pitchers terrifies me.

Nearly 500M??? If they sign Arrieta for a market value contract, It's going to be over 500M? He is probably something around Lester's 155M. And Price is going to get at least 200 this year. Right there that's 510M.

Cubs farm is full of nice prospects and, as much as one wants, you can't play them all. Guys like Carrasco and Fernandez are definitely enticing.

I was talking about all 3 combined. Not sure how you got that confused.

Oh I got it now. Well I don't know why they would sign Arrieta to a contract over market value when he's got 2 years of control left, so I'm going with the same numbers he just said. $510M is nearly $500M in my mind.

                      Very believable.

And Jr. I think I was low on Arrieta depending on his next 2 seasons. If he has 2 years like last he will be in the 175 range. Also depending on what Price gets and others that hit FA next offseason.

I agree with that. I don't think he can quite replicate what he did this year, next year, but if he does, he'll be pushing $200M.

                          Maybe sell high in Valencia?

Lawrie and Lowrie on the same infield though? Good luck broadcasters.
According to SS it sounds like they are going to trade Lawrie. Almost seems like they realize the mistake they made at the deadline a few years ago and then this last offseason.

Really wouldn't at all be surprised to see Cespedes back.

Dangit. Was hoping Detroit would throw him a contract.

Getting the old band back together? I'd like it but I think Cespedes is going to be too much money. But who knows, I wouldn't be surprised either.

I am glad to see all indications are Semien still has SS locked down. If he can keep the errors down he could be quite the productive SS.

As for trading Lawrie, he's still young might be at his highest value ever after putting in a full healthy season. I assumed it would be Valencia going because I thought I had read between the lines a while back that he made the crappy clubhouse worst when he came over. Thought I read somewhere he had some attitude problems in the past. But then again amped up redbull chugging Lawrie might make the clubhouse crazy too.

Bud Norris, because none of the Braves' 28 pitching prospects can do what he does.
