Jeff Samardzija gave up more hits, ER in 2015 than any starter in baseball and he's 47-61 in his career. I've never seen someone rewarded so handsomely for basically almost one good season with the Cubs.

As for the Wei-Yin Chen part...yes, please. More trades with Baltimore. Yes. I like how the previous one turned out.

I agree, I don't want anything to do with Papelbon. Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to who they're targeting.

Chen is a FA, and expected to get around 5/80 (from MLBTR). Not quite sure how I feel about that, although his numbers have been pretty solid for pitching in the AL East.

I don't know....who was the pitcher who got big money from teams(Yanks?) and was always on the DL?

I've never been particularly enamored by him either. I don't see the fascination but your stuff is going to suffer a bit when you're joining your 4th team since 2014. I think staying long term with one team and having a great pitching coach like Rags will help him a bit.

I wish I could get some stupid money.

I'll bet I could provide as much value as the other inept relievers in Atlanta's pen.

The real question is, did the Giants offer Shark the most money? Because if they did, I'm gonna assume he'll be a cancer in the SF clubhouse.

Oh, that's right Chen is a FA? No thanks. Not for that money.

I'm starting to think we're looking at Boxberger. But calling him a 'top closer' is a stretch.

The key to both of your points is the massive difference in how much each of them are being paid.

So it's not a knock on Grienke, but a knock on the amount players are being paid.
