Yeah the Shark deal was probably an overpayment but not any more so than most of the other deals. Shark has a lot of potential.

I'm actually really happy Shapiro stayed out of this. I'd take Happ at 3/36 over Leake at 5/80, to be honest. Estrada 2/26 doesn't hurt either. Although he probably severely misjudged the relief market.

Pirates sign John Jaso to a 2 yr deal... Sounds like he'll be platooning with Mike Morse at 1B.

According to the YES Network the Yankees are close to acquiring Aroldis Chapman. Only word coming to mind is why?

Maybe they are trading Andrew Miller (to the Dodgers hopefully)

7-8-9 combo of Betances, Miller, and Chapman shortens games for our starters.

If the Yankees keep Chapman, Betances, and Miller, they have the New Nasty Boys. More probable that they deal one. That threesome is better than any group that even the Royals have had lately.

I feel like if the Yanks get Chapman than yeah, that basically sews up the game after 6 innings. It would suck for them if Betances or Miller gets all butt hurt by being "demoted".

                              Looks official now.

                              Chapman for 4 prospects.

Pretty good 789 no matter how you cut it up.
