Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread

With the Cardinals trading Jon Jay and losing Bourjos last week and assuming Heyward isn't coming back how's their outfield alignment look?

    Holliday LF

    Grichuk CF

    Piscotty RF

    Pham 4th Outfielder

Or do they keep Piscotty at 1B and put Pham in CF with Grichuk in RF?

I bet they are, but who else could they possibly attach to that deal that would make it anywhere near what the Marlins could get from a team like the Red Sox, Astros, Cubs, Dodgers, etc.

They're trying to get younger and add guys like Severino, not ship them out of town. The Yankees being involved in this just seems silly to me, unless the price significantly drops (it won't).

        Why?!?!

They had opportunities to deal him at the deadline last season to get a proven arm or bat and they sat on it. Now they're willing to trade him for a guy who seems to have an attitude problem and an injury history?

        Makes no bloody sense!

A few random *** reports come out of his teammates saying they wanted to see him get shelled, and now the kid has attitude problems lol. I would hate to be a pro athlete, these reporters just make **** up and people believe it. And I don't care how arrogant he is, if his teammates want to see him get shelled and lose a game to "humble" him, then they're losers and the ones with the attitude problems.

That 3rd team will probably be giving the Marlins prospects while we keep Urias and Seager. Watch!

Well I said "seems". I wasn't talking 100% authoritatively. Sure, his teammates wanting to see him get shelled and "humbled" might seem pretty sketchy but if true, than he's not exactly an angel either.

                  Homer pick.

If we sign Heyward, I'll forgive Cop...be like Kenny Lofton going back to the Tribe in 1998.

The love that Friedman gets is hilarious to me...just don't see it.

He's just the darling for the internet sports douche crowd that thinks "he's young like us! he thinks like us! we're going places!"

He's a good GM, but like all the other mid-30s GMs that are constantly fellated by society, most of them aren't anything terribly special in reality and receive way more adulation than they truly deserve.

I don't think he's a bad GM...I just don't see what he's done that's any better than most GM's. I'm always reading the "oh, that's such a Friedman move" or "oh, he's so creative". Yes, he'd be the first GM in history to orchestrate a 3-team trade to get a player....good grief.

Took the Rays to a Word Series on a $43.7m payroll. 5 90 win seasons, all with payroll no higher than $72.8m. Constantly made them contenders in the AL East through out his tenure. He knows what he's doing, and he does it well...

Also, Jon Heyman's mock trade is horrendous for us. No way that should get done.

Also, I'd like to send a big LOL to Jon Heyman for that mock trade. Moncada, Espinoza, AND E-Rod???

Yea, just edited it, as I did recall him saying that. He was just using that as a probable example of what the Marlins want. Probably would never happen...

Heyman tweets that the Mets, Giants and Nationals are all willing to go to four years on Zobrist.

And Cam, I don't think we do that deal either. Maybe a version of it like E-Rod and Espinoza + if we were to do it.
