I hope they'd get him. Good guy to get for the rotation. Maybe a 3 year deal or something. But if they get Gallardo, then Dickey could be gone, since rotation would be Stroman,Estrada,Gallardo,Happ and a 5th spot(which would be fought for by Sanchez,Hutchison and Chavez).

Willing to go 5 years and $75-90 million.

Idk...I'd still prefer Upton over anyone but I'd much rather have Cespedes at 5/90 than Davis at 7/154. Plus we wouldn't lose our first round pick and gain another comp pick for losing Davis.

                      man...

honestly glad I'm not the GM of either team. That's a lie, totally would love to be. Making this decision would surely take years off my life.

This article considers the "grand slam" option to be Archer/McGee/Kiermaier for Schwarber/Baez/McKinney/Torres

This does not seem like a grand slam for the Cubs...getting Archer would, of course, be awesome. I'm not buying the Kiermaier hype, though...not with a hundred strikeouts and an OBP less than 300.
I understand that he and Schwarber are light years apart in the field, but they are equally so at the plate, and I don't believe the Cubs can sustain that blow. Schwarber is the best contact hitter on the team, and potentially the only one.

Archer/McGee for Soler and Baez and Vogelbach...yes...maybe more.

I'd prefer the Cubs hand onto Soler AND Schwarber for one more year, though.
Really don't see that happening on the Rays' side actually. Archer and Kiermaier are bonafide studs; Schwarber is, but Baez may not be,and McKinney/Torres definitely aren't. McGee is great too.

Dunno how much everyone's watched Kiermaier play but his numbers are legit. Best defensive CF in the league, coming from someone who watched Kevin Pillar play 130 games or whatever last year.

Cespedes deciding between 5/90 with a possible option year from Baltimore or a one year deal with the Mets so he can test the market again next year.
