Good to get Storen cause Jays badly need bullpen depth, but sucks to see Revere go. Only here a few months, but I really liked him on the team. Contact hitting and base stealing are things this Jays team isn't built to do much, but he could do both.

And his Richard Sherman like interviews were funny too.

Does this mean Storen will close again or is the job still Osuna's?

He was great last year until the Nats got Papelbon then he sulked and just blew up.

Osuna deserves the spot again, but if Jays want to move him into rotation in the future, he has to slowly be getting more innings. So moving out of closer role and into setup role possibly could start giving him slightly more innings before becoming a starter in the future.

Though if Sanchez stays in bullpen, a Sanchez-Osuna-Storen 7-8-9 inning combo wouldn't be bad at all.

Sounds like Dickey might be on the way out too.

I wonder who the new leadoff guy is going to be now. We all saw how badly putting Tulo in the leadoff position did for the Jays. I feel like there's another shoe to drop because an OF of Pompey/Pillar/Bautista doesn't sound like a great idea to me. Of course there's still Saunders but I feel like he's just gonna bust again whether it be injuries like last year or poor play.

If Dickey is indeed gone then I see an OFer coming back our way. I think the Jays will probably start the year putting Sanchez back in the rotation and have a late inning trio of Cecil/Osuna/Storen. That's not a bad trio to trot out there IMO.

Definitely feels like the Jays have another move or two in the offing here.

Trading for relief pitching hasn't worked out well for the Jays in recent years, but I still like the move.

Like Revere as a player, and as SPTO said, I don't know who is going to hit leadoff. Also a lefty bat out of the lineup.

I hope Saunders can have a rebound. His bat is different than Revere's for sure, but it has potential to be an improvement in overall production and impact. Still doesn't solve the leadoff problem. Again, as SPTO mentioned, the Tulo experiment last year demonstrated how important a traditional leadoff player is for this lineup. I almost wouldn't be surprised if they tried Pillar in ST. Obviously they'd like Pompey there with his switch hitting, but I'm skeptical of him until proven otherwise.

I like this for the Nats. Storen/Papelbon situation wasn't working and needed to be cleaned up.

I just read an opinion piece from an independent baseball blog/site and there was the notion of the Jays possibly having their eye on either Upton, Cespedes and even Davis (he's being pitched as an every day OFer now by Boras) to fill in the hole at LF. The prices for all three have dropped considerably and this is the time of year when the agents get a bit antsy when their guy hasn't signed a deal.

This might be something worth monitoring.

                            >Pretty sure we still won a **** ton of games with Tulo at leadoff
                            >Sanchez sucks please don't start him

I don't think we can afford Upton or Cespedes without trading Edwin (which should be considered, actually) but a guy like Dexter Fowler would be a nice fit. Or Marcell Ozuna, he'd be a nice option too. Austin Jackson would be a good depth piece.

I think Dexter Fowler would slot into the Jays lineup very well. With the way the outfield market is right now, they could possibly get a pretty team friendly deal that could end up being a steal.

Devon Travis makes a bit of sense as a leadoff guy for Toronto after he comes back healthy. Good OBP his rookie year and has demonstrated decent BB/K rates in the minors fwiw. I could see .275/.335/.420 as a reasonable projection for him. The Jays can probably scrape something together in the meantime from Pillar, Pompey, and Tulo. It could make sense to get Fowler, stick him in LF this year and see what happens with Pompey/re-signing Bautista down the line.

EDIT: Steamer has Devon Travis at .272/.323/.419, so maybe I'm a bit bullish on his OBP.
