The Dbacks didn't really sell everything though. They had a log jam in the outfield, Blair was behind others like Bradley, and Swanson is years away.

Hey guys, actually the Braves-D'Backs deal is pretty even now that I found out Gabe Speier is also heading to ARZ with Shelby. This changes everything! What a masterstroke by the Stew/LaRussa braintrust.

Maybe next offseason we can trade Toussaint and/or Blair back to them for Pollock.

Royals stating they want Jarrod Dyson to take and keep Gordon's spot.

He has a career .691 OPS albeit also has great defense and tremendous speed. This is really interesting though as he had a 3.8 WAR in 2014 with 120 games (290 PAs). I hope they let him steal and go anytime he wants.

Marlins are now asking the Dodgers for Seager, Urias, and Pederson for Fernandez.

And I don't blame and wouldn't budge from that either.

I see the Mets keep chasing a 2B when they have one in Flores (can't field SS) and a good prospect in Herrera. Like last year, just let the kids play man.

I read that they want Magic Johnson, Vin Scully, all of Steve Garvey's stats as a Dodger, and Dodgers Stadium itself in the deal as well.

                  How can LA refuse?

Ender is better than Miller on his own, Blair is better than Bradley and Swanson is elite capital or a very good core piece.

A past his prime Magic and Vin? I'd do it.

Swanson is only 2 years away. So he could honestly have been up in 2017 by midseason or if he is tearing it up make a September call up depending on how the Dbacks are doing next year.

Anyone think Manfred should consider a Ted Stepien rule for baseball? The Snakes have now traded or surrendered 1st Rd picks in 3 straight years ('14 - Toussaint, '15 - Swanson, '16 - TBA). I mean it's not like they're trying to dismantle and tank because they want to compete and might be pretty good this year. But Toussaint for a little cash and then handing $200MM to Greinke? Something seems out of whack over there.

Toussaint was a product of the old regime that the new regime (current) didn't like, IIRC. And was moved so they didn't have to pay Arroyo anymore. And I am still dumbfounded as to why they moved Swanson for Miller. And they lost their '16 pick when they signed Greinke.

I didn't realize that Blair was their top pick in 2013...so that's the DBacks top pick in 2013, 2014, and 2015 for Gosselin/Miller.

But it doesn't make sense. Being desperate enough to deal away a 1st Rd pick just to shed Arroyo's (modest) contract then turning around and paying the largest contract ever given to a pitcher less than a year later? Does not compute.
