    2016 H.O.F Discussion

Inductees announced tomorrow. Who do you think is in, or out?

    In
    Junior
    Trevor Hoffman

Wagner, Bagwell, Raines, Piazza will be close, but under 75%.

I also think Bonds & Clemens percentages will rise.

Wild card: Randy Winn will get at least one vote.

Its ridiculous that Raines isn't in yet. Almost career .300 hitter,5th most stolen bases in mlb history, and one of highest WARs of the current hof eligible class. Higher than the hof average, and higher than recent inductees like Gwynn and Biggio. Just 2 more chances for him to get in.

I read an article today wondering if Junior will be unanimous. It's highly unlikely, but he might break Seaver's record

I doubt it too. If Cal Jr. didn't break it, I can't see Griffey either. But who knows, they did cull about 100 voters this year, so percentages and whatnot.

          Randy Winn?

Who would vote for Randy Winn?

Regarding Junior, if Maddux didn't get break the record I don't think Junior will. I agree with Maj that Raines should be in and I also think Bagwell should get way more consideration than he does. He's only linked to steriods because of rumors, nothing factual.

Because every year it seems some random player gets a vote that has no business getting one. Usually a crackpot writer is involved.

            Just calling my shot.

They might make Griffey unanimous as a message to the PED users, because everyone seems to assume he was a "clean" power hitter. That seems like a long shot tho, obviously.

Also Mark Grudzielanek will get a vote. And Eckstein stays on the ballot, somehow.

I pray to the baseball gods that Raines gets in.

I think Junior is a slam dunk and Hoffman might squeak it out too though there's still some people that have it in for relief pitchers.

And you have guys that vote for a guy because it's his first year on the ballot. So that's one reason why we won't see a guy unanimous for a while.

Griffey Jr and Piazza will get it. Hoffman, Bagwell and Raines are maybe. One could actually argue that Wagner was a better closer than Hoffman.

Other guys I'd vote for: Walker, Trammel, Schilling, Mussina, Martinez.

Yea I saw something in the past week or so about HOF and who should get in. It was on MLBN, I forget the show though. And they had a guy on and they were talking about Hoffman and his chances and then Wagner came up. The stats were pretty similar and some were even in Wagner's favor. But you see people talk about getting in and Hoffman's name comes up much more than Wagner.

Edit: Found of the guys name, I think. It was Jay Jaffe. He created JAWs. Description here. http://www.baseball-reference.com/about/jaws.shtml He is doing a Twitter Q & A right about the HOF voting. Just confirmed Garrett Anderson received at least 1 vote.

Too bad. The Angels could use him in LF at the moment. Lol. Maybe he should unretire.

Putting the X in the box next to Ken Griffey Jr.'s name was one of the simplest and most obvious decisions in my 10-plus years of voting on candidates for baseball's Hall of Fame. The only even...
