Re: 5/2 - 5/15 Game Discussion Thread
He should be. But after John Farrell got ejected Friday night he stayed in the dugout and watched the rest of the game and isn't facing any discipline. Also wasn't this confrontation after the game had ended and would that make a difference?Comment

I also think he gets too much credit for starting a "movement" when he doesn't really have any philosophical consistency to his actions. He's basically doing whatever he wants and the reasoning people infer is it's because "he's making baseball fun again"
In reality, Bryce Harper is just being Bryce Harper and the media needs something to write about.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Yes I hate the Bryce is making baseball fun again headline. If baseball is boring you, then maybe you have a short attention span.
I haven't seen anything Bryce has done attitude wise that has been ground breaking.
I don't tune in to watch Bryce flip his hair, or scream at an umpire.
Is Bryce a colorful character? Sure. But is he disrespectful pos. No. I think Milton Bradley makes Bryce look like a saint. The media is lame.

Re: 5/2 - 5/15 Game Discussion Thread
I'm not sure how wishing someone to get hit by a baseball is considered a very mature attitude.
Seems like you're getting a bit riled up over a guy that plays baseball.
What he did was unacceptable but it has nothing to do with him being an exciting player as well."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Yea what he did was wrong tonight but I don't have other issues with how he play's the game.
I can't defend some of the ways I acted in the heat of the moment so I won't be a total hypocrite but in retrospect I wouldn't be surprised if he came out and admitted his actions tonight were wrong.Comment

Re: 5/2 - 5/15 Game Discussion Thread
Didn't he get tossed late in a tie game for essentially no reason?
I'd be pretty upset after that, as well. Hell, I nearly cussed out an umpire after a men's league game last week because he started squeezing me in my last inning and I ended up giving up a couple of runs due to my extended pitch count.
I can't imagine how I'd react in his situation. Cussing out an umpire is pretty harmless.Comment

Harper is an amazing talent but more of this will quickly make him an unlikable jerk. Similar to another Washington guy (Alex Ovechkin).Comment

What he did tonight is actually my favorite thing he's ever done. Wish he charged the umpire with a bat.
Umpires and refs across all sports need the most humbling out of anyone in the sports world. Well, sports writers are probably first and foremost.
In other news, Peavy needs to GTFO. And the Angels are most definitely suffering from the Curse of the Matrix.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 05-10-2016, 02:19 AM.Comment
