I'm obviously late to the party but I just cannot believe that haul the Yankees got for Beltran, Chapman, and Miller.

Definitely the best farm system the Yankees have had in a longgggg time now, I'm excited! Glad they realized this team wasn't going anywhere, loved Miller but it had to be done.

I wish that guy that said the Yankees wouldn't get anything back for Chapman or Miller didn't get banned. Hilarious thing is he was a Indians fan too. You know he's mad as hell lmao

Don't worry, he'll be back sometime with his 30th account.

Last year I felt he occasionally let bad calls get to him too much and carry to the next AB and it hurt his production. It may have been more about how the teams overall season was a **** show though.

This year, what a change. He stopped trying to hit the longball most of the time and is happy hitting against shifts. I was hoping they could figure out an extention. He made it very clear he wanted to stay but I saw the writing on the wall when he made comments along the lines of, if we can't agree then they obviously don't want me here. That's his passion and love for Oakland fans though. He's one of those great clubhouse guys that wears his heart on his sleeve and pumps up his teammates with his fire and drive. So opposite of Puig.

I hope he excels in Socal and the A's ring his agent many times this off season. Though there's about 1% chance they can outbid the other offers he'll get.

Side note, with all the ex-A's on the Dodgers now they've got my horse in their race for the rest of the season.

You're right, they didn't need Matt Moore. It's good they have another lefty in the rotation, but I wonder if that means Cain or Peavy is knocked out of it. Peavy is Bochy's guy, and Cain just had an impressive five innings yesterday. Yet, Moore has not been the same pitcher after his TJ surgery. I hope that his hook will fare well in the NL West.

The unfortunate thing about Duffy here is that we traded him at the worst possible time... when he was injured and coming off of a terrible start. We all know he is going to bounce back, and do great things for Tampa. If we traded him high, we could have gotten bigger things in return (or not have to had traded Fox).

The good news is we now have a legit top-of-the-order right handed hitter in Nuñez that is aggressive on the base paths, and hopefully in the later years we can keep Arroyo on reserve.

I am a fan of Will Smith though, especially since he is not just a lefty specialist but a legitimate lefty reliever. It makes me wonder how Bochy will play this out, though. Maybe he is our in the 7th inning holder, then Romo and Lopez take the 8th inning based on the lineup and pinch-hitting matchups (using the likes of Gearrin and Osich if need be afterward), and Casilla in the 9th... which I wouldn't prefer, but that might be how it plays out. Of course, Bumgarner and Cueto can go 7 or 8 innings regularly, so they won't be needed in those cases.

I'm now reading that Puig was specifically told by the Dodgers to stay away since he was likely being moved. If true, that puts his actions in a different light.

Yea especially since he said the Indians wouldn't give up Frazier or Zimmer for him.

Looks like the Dodgers told him not to come. Doesn't mean he's not an ******* though.

Now...on to the much less exciting waiver dealine on Aug 31 (I believe it's still the 31st...someone correct me if they changed that too)

Those moves are sometimes harder to predict...but any names pop out?

Tex and maybe if the Yankees are fully in rebuild mode Tanaka. Other than that none I can think of. Sale isn't going anywhere because he won't reach the playoff teams due to his contract being so cheap.

31st is a Wednesday not a Sunday so I doubt that's changed and I would say the biggest name at this point would be Puig. Other than that pretty much everyone is put on waivers so it's impossible to predict.
