No need to call out Boston, he had a banana thrown at him in San Francisco a few years ago. This **** can happen anywhere.

The fact racist acts can happen anywhere should in no way excuse Boston from being called out. Sure, we can point to acts elsewhere to highlight that fact, but when it happens in your city, you have to stare the problem in the face and do better to clean up your own backyard. In this instance it starts with fans at the game speaking up to have those spewing racist terms at a player to be removed from the stadium. Sitting by doing nothing makes you part of the problem.

That's all I'll say on the matter due to TOS, but let's please not give Boston a pass because this happens in other cities.

To me, it's not about giving anyone a pass. It's the opposite. I think focusing on Boston gives a pass to everywhere else. People will sit in THEIR city and throw stones at Boston like it's not happening a half hour away from them. It's meaningless.

As Someone who hates everything Boston, I don't understand why Boston should apologize? It's not their fault some idiots said what they said.

If those idiots fly to Los Angeles and do the same thing. That's not on Los Angeles.

A whole city is not at fault.

EVERY city has a racist element. Toronto is one of the most diverse (some would say it's THE most diverse) cities in the world but we've seen a couple of racist things go on at Blue Jays games over the last few years.

Racism everywhere is a blight on society and the people that perpetuated that crap last night against Adam Jones should be ashamed of themselves and face scrutiny for their actions.

Hmm, Sabathia and others echo Jones. Apparently, this happens at Fenway often. Sabathia said its the only ballpark he's been racially slurred, and expects it.

His point is much bigger than that article. And my point is that I'm actually surprised Boston is the ONLY city CC has heard the slur in, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he's heard it in every park. Also that with all of these statements and we've known this kind of stuff has been happening for years, what is actually going to be done? I hope they're banning these people for life.

Wow...I thought it was a one-time thing because of the Orioles and maybe he's getting some heat because of the Machado/Pedroia stuff.

Extremely sad and disappointing this stuff has been going on for a while.

i always find it kind of weird when watching a Yankees game that it always looks like its so empty yet they are one(if not might be Dodgers) highest payroll team.

Sale threw a 97 mph fastball behind Machado. Both benches have been warned. Yea the Red Sox and Yankees rivalry is on the back burner for now. The premier rivalry is the Red Sox and O's.
