Maeda getting roughed up early by the DBacks...going to be interesting if all the sudden the Dodgers go into a slump as the season ends.

Man...when healthy, AJ Pollock makes it look so easy. He just nonchalantly robbed Bellinger with a great catch at the wall in CF...it was like he was catching a can of corn.

...and now Pollock goes deep. 7-1 Arizona in the 3rd...Maeda throwing BP out there.

The Twins won on a walk-off hit by pitch.

I realize that posting about this will immediately cause the Cubs to go into a funk, but they've actually been the most productive offense in baseball in the 2nd half: 75 homers (2nd), .352 wOBA (2nd), 115 wRC+ (2nd), 10.2 WAR (1st). Baltimore is ahead of the Cubs in some categories, but I give the Cubs the nod due to doing it w/o the DH.
Yeah they were due to improve. It's been nice to see.

Has Eddie Rodriguez always worked this slow? I feel like he's really, really slow tonight...

Oh how the Yankees missed a healthy Greg Bird.

It's always funny to watch Kyle Hendricks pitch...he throws slow and slower and you end up with hitters reacting to his 84 mph heat like it's an Aroldis Chapman fastball.

I swear...why have we become the retirement village for sucky closers? Jim Johnson, Jason Motte...how are these guys helping us get any better?

So is Scioscia finally gonna push Pujols and his negative WAR (.664 OPS in August) down the lineup with Upton's arrival?

                          My guess is no.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Javy's crazy, but damn that was exciting to watch.

Also, Schwarbs looked out which would render the whole thing moot, unfortunately.

Or not. Safe on review, Cubs lead 1-0.

Ridiculous that they didn't reverse it...even the Cubs announcers thought he was out.

This Braves offense has been bad...we're making John Lackey look like Greg Maddux today. Just nobody is hitting...
