Ben Zobrist takes Anderson deep to put the Cubbies up 3-0 in the 7th. Hard to overstate how big taking 3 of 4 in Milwaukee would be for our playoff chances.

Despite the loss, Luis Gohara continued to impress. 7 IP, 9 K, and 2 BB with 1 ER. I am excited for his future...

Classiness all around by the Blue Jays organization when it came to Jose Bautista from having him taking the field all by himself to a standing ovation when he was taken out of the ball game.

Thanks for all the memories Jose!

It's an even more special feeling for the city in general where their owners often treat guys like business investments and less like people. Way too often we've seen star players here just leave or traded with no closure. From alomar to Delgado to halladay to Vince Carter to Bosh to Sundin and so on. None got a proper exit from the city.

Maybe one day we'll finally have a "lifer" in any sport. DeRozan is closest we've had in decades in any sport.

It feels like he just came to Toronto, but I checked and hadn't realized he's been with the team since 2008. For some reason I was thinking 2010 was his first year, but that is when he broke out with the 54 homers. The guy essentially played for Toronto for a decade...it's amazing how time flies.

Ya. First 2 years was just the utility guy we saw in Pittsburgh, then cito happened and he changed forever. 2010-14 he was "the guy", 2015-16 he finally had a team surrounding him, and this year was the end.

Bautista is biggest piece of proof that the right player with right coach can be great. He went from a nothing player to a star. He didn't go through minors to find his game or anything, he simply just had a coach who saw his weaknesses, knew his strengths and tuned his game.

Quintana hitting for himself in the 9th, looks to be going for the CGSO.

And he gets it. Magic number is 2.

So if the Cubs beat STL tomorrow and Milwaukee loses, Division Champs. If the Cubs win tomorrow and Tuesday, also Division Champs no matter what anyone else does.

Before his start today, Stroman was rocking an old school Bautista jersey.

Funny story revealed about this. Stroman admitted it was a legit jersey. As in Bautista wore it(I'm guessing it's possibly the jersey he hit one of his franchise record breaking HRs in), and Stroman "borrowed" it from a display case the Jays have at Rogers Centre lol.

Reminded me of MLB The Show where you can mix and match what jersey/hat you want to wear. New school hat with old school jersey. Speaking of which, I gotta get one of those white panel hats.

And that, my friends will hopefully be the last time we ever see those black monstrosities ever again.

Kudos to Stroman for showing love to his teammate and one of his mentors in his early career.

                        damn Pirates.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I hate talking about fantasy, but it's kinda funny/annoying/"figures"....

I picked up Dylan Bundy for a spot start in Championship Sunday in our OS league. He got scratched. So I said let's go with Jaime Garcia, he's been decent and they're playing Toronto who's worthless at this point. He got rocked.

My other option that kept staring at me throughout my deliberations? Gohara. I passed because, I don't know. Didn't want to rely on the rookie.
Of course the dude kicked ***.

Ended up being pretty inconsequential, but I found it funny. And I couldn't be happier to be wrong about it.
