Re: 2017-2018 MLB Hot Stove Thread
I mean, I know it looked like that teams were snubbing free agents for a while there, but come on now... you don't have to go that deep into the pool to prove you aren't!
I'm really looking/hoping for a turnaround year for him. It'll be nice to play in an offensive-friendly division, stadium-wise (at least when the wind is blowing out at Wrigley, that is). Meh, Busch Stadium isn't that offensive-friendly (very balanced), but his home park certainly is for right field.Last edited by Blzer; 02-21-2018, 01:56 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

At best, they'll be trading away one of the most popular players for $2m, probably a naff prospect and getting one of the least popular guys in baseball to replace himComment

Re: 2017-2018 MLB Hot Stove Thread
Unless I'm misreading it, at the moment they are DFAing Dickerson to save $5m (potentially $6m if they get a trade sorted), then signing Gomez for $4m. Hard to even call that even a cash saving move, that's just a bit terrible.

I was running those numbers in my head earlier too and came to that same conclusion. Best case scenario they would eat only 1 million of the Dickerson Money. I really enjoyed Gomez in his Milwaukee Days, but it sure does appear that his charm has worn out over time.

I'm sure the Astros would love to have Santana and Hader still.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: 2017-2018 MLB Hot Stove Thread
I may have my beef over what the Jays do from time to time but thank the baby Jesus i'm not living in Florida. How in the world can these two teams do this crap. I guess we now know why the Rays have put up those nets all along the infield to promote lifting the ball up. You don't need to spend lots of money trying to get hitters to all swing the same way.
UGH....If i'm the civic leaders in Tampa or Miami I would go through the motions of trying to keep the teams there but really, if they threatened to leave i'd say "ADIOS SUCKERS!".Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
