Apparently the Marlins want to trade Stanton to the Cardinals.

They won't get the prospects you picked if they don't eat all of the contract.

Not sure he'll allow that. Wants to go to a coastal team

Yeah I have no idea if Stanton wants to go or would accept a trade to the Cardinals, but if the Marlins had their way that is where they prefer to trade him.

Marlins talking with the Red Sox, Cardinals, Giants and Phillies about Giancarlo Stanton.

While having Stanton on the Cardinals would boost our offense, the concern I have about adding him is the amount of money and prospects that will used to put him on our roster.

Stanton has only played more than 150 games twice in his 8 year career.

That would be my main concern as an organization as well.
But dangit, I'd love to add him to my team's roster.
I'd also love to see him in Boston and what he could do with Fenways dimensions.

I wonder if Boston has the prospects to trade for Stanton, though.

If the Marlins would eat most of that contract I'd love it if Stanton goes to Philly and then they make a huge run at Trout. Can you imagine an outfield with those two in it? That would be AMAZING. Moreso on the offensive side as I don't really now how Stanton plays defensively though Trout is no slouch in the OF.

Philly would be my favourite team.
Just like Houston is my favourite now.

And the Giants are? They're a pretty old team and showed it last year.

Anywho, boo on Stanton for not seeing the long term potential in Philly.

I can understand the home state desire but still...We'll see about the Giants next year but I think even with a healthy MadBum they'll be in tough in a very competitive division.
