Yeah, but Ohtani is a way different player. Also, Bethancourt didn't really work out for SD. He ended up being DFA early in the season. He's since been released by the Padres.

I know, but we can prove to him we have no problems using him both ways

I hate Giancarlo leaving but best tyo sell high. More proof these crazy high contracts are more burden than value.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

The new ownership group is forcing him out if you really think about it.

Well I mean, he has a no-trade clause. He doesn't have to go anywhere, and he has the final say on that.

I know, but they are basically forcing his hand on leaving (Wasn't his idea to be traded). He does hold all the cards like you said, but he is being strongarmed by the Marlins in this situation no doubt. Telling him to either accept a trade or we'll just trade everyone around you.

Not saying he wont end up in SD, just saying Seattle has more of what he wants to do (hit and pitch).

Don't count Texas out in all of this either.
One knock against Seattle, didn't he at one point say he wanted to go to a team that hadn't had a significant Japanese player in the past?

He did say that according to some reports, but Seattle is the team pushing the hardest to sign the guy and is considered the overwhelming favorite to land him as of right now. He hasn't eliminated the M's off his list either.

Basically if he goes to an NL team he'll have to play RF and pitch which he is capable of doing, but you risk injury obviously.

In the AL he can DH, play the OF on occasion, and still pitch. Risk of injury is still there, but not as high if you are able to DH.

                        Giants
                        Angels

Reports are he may make his decision before the Winter meetings and would be introduced by his team at the meetings.

Hope he hurries up and decides so I can add him into my franchise of the Show.

Padres are interested in Freddy Galvis

Cubs considering Brandon Morrow as a closer.

Royals may look to trade Whit Merrifield.
