I think this became pretty evident in the last year when he just looked weak and had such odd health problems that are pretty similar to those of steroid users. Hopefully this will give other players the courage to come forward and tell the truth so that the healing can begin and their names dont have to be kicked around and questioned so often.
Yeah, Bonds is being targeted. And, yes, it's a witchhunt. But that doesn't mean he isn't guilty, because he most likely is.
As for Giambi...what a classless individual. Constant telling lies is expected...we've been through that with almost every athlete. But there were tons of yankee fans [I'm not a yankee fan, for the record] and baseball fans that were concerned about his health, because he had an awful year and people genuinely cared about what was wrong with him...and he had a tumor in his pituitary gland that he didn't even want to disclose because it would 'make him look guilty for taking steroids because it's a common side-effect.' So people cared about his health and humanity, yet he tried to hide it because he was afraid that people might realize the truth? Like I said...a lack of class.Comment

Re: Giambi admits to doing steroids
I just saw this on CNN. Well I guess now this will open the floodgates. MLB is going to have to take a very serious stance on this. I won't accept anything less then a full year ban from MLB. Giambi should've told the truth in the beginning but he's now dug himself a hole.
How soon do you think it'll be before we hear about other stars being on steroids?Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Giambi admits to doing steroids
Not really a surprise, I was waiting for someone to come out and admit it. Hopefully other players will follow his lead and come clean also. The next few months should be interesting.Clemson Tigers
Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Reds
Cincinnati Bearcats

Re: Giambi admits to doing steroids
No surprise but you know he wasnt sick last year because of roids.Ya right. I heard on a sports radio show I like in CHicago an article some guy wrote about pro wrestling. He talked about how the number of heart related deaths and other odd deaths have skyrocketed in the past ten years. he thinks its roids and other drugs and he says you might to start to see the same things happen to baseball players when they hit the ages of 45 and up.
It is absolutely sad to hear this. I love Barry Bonds, he is the best player of my lifetime but he has to be guilty as well. Like his trainer gave some to Giambi but not to Bonds. Again ya right. Everything Sheff said about this cream is the same thing Giambi said. I hope these players are done with this and we see Beltre's 47 homers as the benchmark, not 65. I long for the days of Ryno. All of his homers were legit and he increased his power the right way as his career went on. He got stronger but also got smarter and knew when his skills slowly diminished ,he thought he should try to hit for more power and it worked. Homers ain't everything, hopefully some of these idiots will get that.Comment
