    An unbelievable statistic:

The Giants have lost 16 of 21 games started by Bumgarner, dating back to the beginning of last season.

One of the things that also makes this unbelievable is how Bumgarner can contribute to his own team's offense, which gives them a slight advantage over their opponent in those situations (unless he whiffs with a runner on when another pitcher would bunt that runner over).

On a more important note, in the Betts-Trout battle this mid-week, Betts is winning 1-0 so far with a single (to Trout's ground out).

See, I can't even blame Snitker though. It doesn't matter WHO he brings in, they've all sucked lately. They all walk the leadoff man, they all give up a 2-strike hit, etc. How is that his fault?

Luis Cessa sucks. Jettison Cessa, Shreve, and Neil Walker to the moon please.

Oh, so we're just blatantly ignoring yesterday? Betts' 1-3 with a leadoff homer, 2 walks, and no strikeouts compared to Trout's 1-4 with a single and a strikeout?

          Anywho, here's a wordy milestone:

JD Martinez has 25 home runs (which is now the Sox record for most by the end of June, btw), which is more than any Sox player had all of last season. He's the first Sox player since Ted Williams to have more home runs at the All-Star Break than any member of the previous season's team. Bob Johnson led the team with 12 in 1945 (Teddy Ballgame was overseas), Williams had 23 at the 1946 All-Star break.

Javy's tear continues with a 2B in his first AB.

I wonder if Javy would have a OBP over .300 if teams just never threw him a strike? I don't think he would.

That's about one of the cheapest HR's you can hit at Chavez Ravine (and there aren't many cheap ones there), but it still counts!

Not to get off topic but I love your avatar.

Big League chew was the **** when I played Little League. You felt like a big leaguer sitting on the bench chewing that gum after taking it out of the pouch.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Justin Turner with his panties in a wad after that tag by Contreras. Not sure what Willie was supposed to do differently there.

And Kyle is not missing any barrels so far.

100% agree with your entire post. When I have softball tourneys I still buy a couple pouches, and of course, try and blow a bubble that touches the brim of my cap..

Whether you think Turner was right, or Willy was. I think this plate rule has made plays so contentious, and more convoluted than ever! I know we want to protect the assets, but I honestly think this stirs up more bean ball wars/bench clearing brawls than anything in baseball..

FWIW I think Turner was completely overreacting.
