Man, that wasn't even that bad a pitch Kyle threw to Joc. Up and over the strike zone with a fastball and he still hammered it.

    And now he looks rattled.

Edit: Nm, wasn't a fastball on second look. Wasn't a strike either, but that's why he got lift on it.

Observation: playing the Orioles is more fun than playing the Yankees or Red Sox.

The whole 87 MPH thing doesn't work without Maddux-like control, and Kyle is way off tonight. Hasn't really been that good all season...K's are down, too many homers with just above average control/command.

You guys are pretty sustainable when you do. Piling up some more 1-run wins I see.

Winning by more than that seems wasteful. Better off saving those runs for future one run wins.

Damn it, I hate injuries. Mike Trout's stupid finger thingy and he hasn't had an extra base hit in 2 weeks. Just making Mookie Betts look that much better...

Finished the first half of the season in 1st place, on pace for 108-54.

That Dillon Maples slider is pretty hellacious. If he could command it regularly, he could be a nice addition to the bullpen.

Sorry, my day yesterday was actually filled with other work that I didn't even get to catch any games. I actually thought today was Tuesday as well, so I thought it was the beginning of the series.

We got us a ballgame again. Strong game at the plate for Contreras.

Jansen coming in for a 4 out save.

My hopes aren't particularly high today for Quintana vs. Kershaw. Need Baseball to be its usual unpredictable self to get a W in this one.

Thank God Kershaw was on a pitch count. That was quite a 7th inning.

Also it seems like Ian Happ is playing much better as a utility guy than he was as the platoon CF. I wonder if playing him at different positions can just get himself out of his own head at the plate during slumps. I still feel like if he can cut down some swing and miss he will be the 2nd coming of Ben Zobrist

So Darvish has been shut down again with some pain. I'd be surprised if he pitches again this season. Seems very ominous with how it was just a little strain and here we are some months later...
