Adding on to that tweet, the context was that he was talking about Pedro being booed out of Yankee stadium in the world series in what would be his 2nd last appearance there(he also lost game 6).

Most surprising thing in all this to me is that Pedro played for the Phillies. Never realized that happened. Looking at it, turns out he played 9 regular season games and 3 post season games.


Also, Jays begin their "home" series in Seattle,Canada today lol. Starting for the Jays is Tyler Clippard, because why not? It's Clippards first start since 2008, which also happened to be in Seattle. Too bad tanking doesn't do much for you in baseball compared to other sports. The way things are going, this could be their worst FULL SEASON* since 1979. Lowest win total in general since 1995.

I remember Pedro on the Phillies, but my memories of that time tend to gravitate towards Cliff Lee treating us like a bunch of scrubs, never forget that pop-up.

He either forgot there were two strikes or that there were two outs on that dropped third strike.

Random facts about the last time Tyler Clippard started a game in the majors:
-Jose Vidro homered off of him
-Ichiro didn't have 2000 hits in the majors yet
-Opposing starter of that game was Erik Bedard
-Dimitri Young and Aaron Boone were teammates of Clippard
-Beltre is the only active hitter left in the majors from either team.
-Only 3 players in that game have played in the majors beyond 2014 (Beltre, Ichiro, Clippard)

Yanks copying the Cubs in burying their disappointing starting pitcher in the bullpen. Both Chatwood and Gray are now bullpensmen.

Cubs hosting a last-place Padres team riding a 7-game losing streak into Wrigley Field. If this isn't at least a series win for the Cubs, then it would be pretty disappointing.

Well I contacted Cash and asked him to jettison Gray to the moon. But he had other plans [emoji848]

Just curious...when did you start watching baseball? I'm asking because you said you didn't realize Pedro pitched for the Phillies...but that's who he finished his career with and he actually pitched in the WS.

I didn't realize that Javy's latest hot streak brought his batting average up over .300. Even at the height of his "prospect-dom", I never really envisioned him as a guy who could hit close to .300. It's also nice that his higher batting average hasn't taken away any of his raw power
