Dusty Baker was also clearly the problem with the Nationals.

Yep y'all took care of business. Yankees have some questions for one of the first times this year. Hope this series brings something good out of them.

The Sox swept a 4-game series against an opponent that entered the match-up 30 games over .500 for the first time since July 1939 (also the Yankees).

Also, as a sign of how good the Red Sox are, the Yankees have a better record than every team in the NL by at least 4 games, and they're still 9.5 games back from Boston.

Plus, the darling man who came into the game as pinch runner and scored the winning run, Tony Renda (making his Red Sox debut btw), was one of 4 prospects traded by the Yankees to Cincinnati for Aroldis Chapman.

Lastly, the Sox are still on pace to go 113-49.

Phillies in Arizona Monday to Wednesday, Braves in DC Tuesday to Thursday. Huge, immense week for the NL East race.

Commendable achievement, hopefully the team does not **** the bed in the first round of their playoffs again.

Cardinals continue to hang around 4 games out of the wildcard. I don't know if they will make it to the postseason, but if not, hopefully they will stay within striking distance to keep things interesting.

I know BoSox fans are going to hate me for saying this, but I think you can lock up the AL East and crown the Red Sox as champions of that division. I don't see the Yankees coming back from 9 games back.

Divisions champs would be cool, simply for the fact we avoid the 1-game playoff. Which is no small thing. Other than that the achievement means little. All about what the team does in the postseason for me.

I don't know if it's because I've gotten older, the 4:3 framing in the video, the juiced balls of today and/or the lack of stands at the time, but the green monster always looked larger to me back when than it does now.
