Michael Lorenzen replaced Nick Senzel in centerfield, then came into pitch later in the same inning...so that's kinda fun

I still don't like the pronunciation of Senzel. It shouldn't rhyme with Denzel like it does.

As for Lorenzen, the guy might have the biggest arms in the game. Dude is a beast. It would be interesting to see how he'd do as a full-time starting pitcher/position player.

Not sure if you mean big in actual size, but the dude is absolutely yoked on top of throwing gas.

Anyway nice for Yu Darvish to FINALLY get a win at Wrigley. Loved the way he pitched today, cool to see him show some emotion and not look like a lost animal on the mound. A 1-2-3 ninth for Kimbrel is a encouraging as well

How would you prefer it pronounced? I can't think of another way

He's been really good but it's practically impossible to live up to the "Sports Illustrated cover at 16" type of hype
I'd say Harper batting below .250 in two of the last 3 years also has been a bit disappointing. He's also only batting in the .250's right now in this year. I think that is where a bit of the disappointment comes from. He was never expected to be some all-world .310+ hitter, but batting in the .250's or below was not where he was supposed to be either.

Yeah I guess everything since his ridiculous 2015 season has left a bit to be desired since we did get a taste of why he was so hyped, but he's still been a pretty valuable player. His elite walk rate also makes up for his low batting average a bit.

Another barn burner in Coors field.....is it just me or has it been even more...."Coors field-ish" this year? Seems like there have been even more wild scores than the past few years.

This win also makes things a bit more interesting for the Giants, who are now only 2.5 GB of a wild card spot and playing good ball recently.....still tough to see them as legitimate contenders though.

I guess if I could convince his family to pronounce it differently, I'd have them adopt something that sounded more like Senzle.

Yeah, I was talking about the biceps. Lorenzen's velocity is nothing special these days. The Cubs broadcast mentioned it during (I think) the first game of the 3-game set. There was also this strange segment of Reds players (Dietrich, Lorenzen, and some other guy I think?) rubbing baby oil on each other's arms in the dugout that I cannot unsee. One of the stranger segments I can remember.

At Coors, the Rockies are batting .312 with a .376 OBP and scoring almost 7 runs per game there thru the All-Star break, so, yeah it's a little more juiced than usual.

Not sure if they are the only team without a no-no, but regardless they'll have to wait as Paddack served up a solo shot to Starlin Castro to leadoff the 8th

And they remain the only team to never throw a no-hitter.

On the other side of the coin, the Oakland A's have gone the longest without being no-hit. The last time they were on the short end of one was the day Tyler Skaggs was born (it was the Cubs 50-year streak that lasted 7,920 games).
