    Magglio to the Tigers?

    Is it going to happen?

They are giving him the hard sell this week.

He'd be a nice bat in the middle of the lineup.

    Thoughts?

I'm hearing conflicting results as to whether the Tigers have seen him work out or not...I'd like to know the knee actually is in good shape before giving him 10 million a year or whatever. If he can play it's a great pickup, somewhat salvaging a disappointing Tigers offseason.

It would be great if they could work out a deal like they did with Pudge. Put in a lot of stipulations that his body will hold up. That being said I think that someone else will land him just like everyone else Detroit went after

question - did they, or are they going to, move the fences in Comerica? he'd be good there if they did, but he would be more of a doubles hitter there if they didnt (remember - Juan Gone).

The Tigers are taking the same approach with Ordonez as they took with Pudge last winter, wait him out as long as they can and get him to agree to their contract demands. This will probably happen since no other team is really showing him any interest, the Orioles and possibly Rangers could get in on him since he could DH for both teams. With his knee suspect i doubt any N.L. teams will really pursue him.

If the Tigers do sign him then i think we may see them trade either Dmitri Young, Rondell White or Bob Higginson.

If he hits 'em far enough, he can walk if he wants.

Either way, if this happens, it'll be a good move for the Tigers. I know the knee has been in badshape lately, but leave him at DH, and let the young'ns patrol the OF. Eventually, that knee will heal up (hopefully) and Mags will be a real powerhouse in the middle of the lineup.

If he didn't slide to make most of his catches I'm sure the knee would be fine. Honestly, he does make things a lot harder than they really are...which, when he's sliding all the time, he's just asking to get hurt.
