    Re: Magglio to the Tigers?

Well, most people were assuming that once the cubs traded Sammy, Magglio would want to go there, but it seems they wouldn't give him more than 2 years, so they went after Burnitz.

This is good news for Tigers fans..... I just hope Boras doesn't get us bidding against ourselves

They did that like 2 full seasons ago. Personally, I hate the move...why not try to build a team to the strengths of your ballpark? It was a pitchers park, get some pitchers. Get guys at the plate who have speed and can hit some doubles/triples. Instead, the Tigers moved the fences in, doing the same thing that it seems like everyone else is doing.

I have personally had enough of Magg$ BS.

1)saying the sox got his medical records, they never did. his trainer even said so to, that magg$ said not to say anything to the sox. 2)he told the cubs that he would sign for a hometown discount. not anymore. why the change of heart?3) that his #1 priority is winning. yea thats why hes close to signing with detroit. he told boras to make them an offer.4)he told melvin mora that the orioles were his 1st choice. didnt he tell the cubs thay they were his 1st choice? 5) he said money isnt the important thing. yea thats why he hired boras and turned down the sox's offer. 6) said that the soxs offer was filled with all deferred money. only one yr. was.

plain and simple, Magg$ did not want to stay and money was #1

It appears the CUbs are not pursuing him now after signing Burnitz. The Tigers are bidding against themselves unless Boras gets the Mets involved. Whoever signs him better be creative and have incentive clauses.

speaking of, according to ESPN.com, the Mets might be ready to make a 5 yr/ 70 mil deal for Maggs...

if i am not mistaken, doesnt he have the same probblem that ended Jackson's career?
