I would be interested as well in the results because I could see it going both ways. Those are long days and in a normal season over 162 games, it wouldn't surprise if players also wanted to get out of the stadium quicker which takes me to this point of Jr's I forgot to respond to:

My opinion of it is that I'm okay with it after a certain point because overall, I agree with you for the most part. Those long days sucked and that's ignoring the bus rides since I know that doesn't apply to MLB.

I'll admit, my feelings are a bit biased as an East Coaster who is a fan of a team in the Pacific time zone. For me, A's games don't start until 10 and I'm lucky if they are over by 1am.

Personally, I would like to see at the least the 10th and 11th played normally. MAYBE start with a runner on first in the 11th and gradually get to a runner on second.

I definitely don't like starting right away in the 10th with a runner on second and while I think it's an okay start, I don't mind expediting the games a bit.

But again, it's important to keep in mind part of my opinion is from someone who until this year, gave up staying up to watch extra inning games (for my favorite team) without knowing how long they could possibly go.

If I lived in their time zone, I would probably feel very differently.

Sheesh...explain for me how Ian Anderson hasn't been in the rotation from day 1 of this season? Clearly the kid is ready; he looks more polished than Foltynewicz or Newcomb. I know it's only 1 start, but he should be allowed to stay up for the rest of the season...

And in all fairness, softball's tiebreaker rule doesn't start till the ninth inning (they play seven innings). I believe they go to 2nd & 3rd by the 11th or 12th inning. I've seen it once in my lifetime.

Make them choose to have a runner at first and sacrifice an out. And even then, only 13th or 14th inning or later.

If you're gonna do some gimmick bull****, do it like that. At least make them sacrifice something.

Man...you have to get those runners in (2nd and 3rd, no outs). Terrible ABs by Duvall/Riley.

I 1,000,000% agree with this. I actually enjoyed those rare times where I'd have to stay up until 2 or 3am to finish a 15 or 16 inning game. 15 inning games don't exactly happen every day. An article that I found which measured that over the 5 year period of 2012 to 2017, 82% of all extra inning games ended by the 12th and only 5% made it to 15 innings (58 of the 1200 total extra inning games during that period).

The 7 innings bothers me the most because there's so much that can happen in 2 innings. And to cut it to 7 is just ridiculous.

Brewers and Reds will not play tonight due to the shooting of Jacob Blake.

Feels cheap that Cole's streak comes to an end in a 7 inning game...oh well.

As far as I'm concerned he's still got the streak.

I'll take anything that is a compromise compared to what we have this year.

I'm happy to see the leagues take a stand.

All leagues and athletes should cease playing until the problems are fixed.

Hoping this isn't just a one game thing. Otherwise that's pointless. Sacrifice salaries, endorsements, etc. Sacrifice titles and wins and records and all that. Make a real impact because it'll be hollow if they just show up back in time for the weekend series.

They should re-dedicate themselves to this cause. Sports are a privilege of a functioning society and quite frankly, if we're not functioning then we don't deserve or need sports.

There are serious issues in this country. For me, and for many of my teammates, the injustices, violence, death and systemic racism is deeply personal. This is impacting not only my community, but very directly my family and friends. Our team voted unanimously not to play tonight
