I would be interested as well in the results because I could see it going both ways. Those are long days and in a normal season over 162 games, it wouldn't surprise if players also wanted to get out of the stadium quicker which takes me to this point of Jr's I forgot to respond to:
My opinion of it is that I'm okay with it after a certain point because overall, I agree with you for the most part. Those long days sucked and that's ignoring the bus rides since I know that doesn't apply to MLB.
I'll admit, my feelings are a bit biased as an East Coaster who is a fan of a team in the Pacific time zone. For me, A's games don't start until 10 and I'm lucky if they are over by 1am.
Personally, I would like to see at the least the 10th and 11th played normally. MAYBE start with a runner on first in the 11th and gradually get to a runner on second.
I definitely don't like starting right away in the 10th with a runner on second and while I think it's an okay start, I don't mind expediting the games a bit.
But again, it's important to keep in mind part of my opinion is from someone who until this year, gave up staying up to watch extra inning games (for my favorite team) without knowing how long they could possibly go.
If I lived in their time zone, I would probably feel very differently.
