It’s risky but I love when teams lock guys up early for less than market value instead of waiting for them to hit free agency and handing them a 10 year deal at age 27

I wonder how much he signs for. Jays didnt offer him a QO, I guess they thought he'd take it. But will be interesting to see if he signs for around that number anyways.

That's what happened with Semien when he was with the As. No QO, he signed for basically that price anyways, so As got no pick.

Could be a year off one way or the other, but I believe he signed it in 2015 and his first year in New York was 2018.

Not sure about all the snark.

Rays signed Evan Longoria in his rookie season to a 6 year contract plus 2 club options that covered 3 more years and he ended up playing 10 years with the Rays. Now, Wander's contract isn't as team friendly as Longoria's but at 18.58M (in reality only 182M is guaranteed) per year he barely has to play above 2.0 WAR to to thread water and he is already projected at 5.1WAR for next year as a 21 year old.

5.1 x 9M per win = 45.9M worth of production, that's 27.32M of surplus value in year 1 if everything goes as projected. Chillax.
