If I had to choose between the three it would be Barry Bonds. Rose is a distant third. He screwed with the integrity of the game. If Bonds and McGwire were on steroids they were joined by many, many other players. Besides, Bonds had HOF credentials prior to the steroid allegations.

        bonds

Unproven that he used steroids, and even if he did that doesnt change his uncanny ability to see the pitch and get the bat on it. You can see the fear in the pitcher's eyes when he's at bat, McGwire and Rose didnt do that. McGwire's entire career is pretty much based around the 70 HR season, but if Bonds didnt have that record he would still be one of the all time greats. Rose deserves to be in and probably will eventually, but for me Barry comes first.

            Pete Rose: All-Time Hits Leader

            Barry Bonds: 400/400, 500/500, 7 MVPs

            Mark McGwire: 70 HR

For me its Bonds, Rose, then McGwire.

None. I'm keeping all 3 out!

Seriously, until Shoeless Joe Jackson gets in the HOF, I don't want to see Rose go. What SJJ's team did was a disgrace. However, he hit .375/.394/.562 during the 1919 series. No way he tried to throw the games.

But the evidence suggests that Jackson did not try his best. The White Sox and Reds played eight games in the 1919 World Series. The evidence suggests that the conspirators tried to win three games, and they tried to lose five. Jackson hit .545 in the three games he wanted to win.

In the first four games the conspirators wanted to lose, Jackson hit .250 with zero RBI. In the fifth fixed game, Jackson was hitless until the Reds were ahead 5-0, at which point he hit a solo home run. Later, with the Sox trailing the Reds 10-1, Jackson hit a meaningless two-run double.

In the field, Jackson's play was questionable, too. Triples are rarely hit to left field ... yet in the 1919 World Series, three of Cincinnati's nine triples were hit to left field, where Jackson was stationed. And there were other things, too. White Sox pitcher Dickie Kerr, who won twice in the Series, later commented, "Our outfielders fielded base hits slow, allowing the Reds to take extra bases. And, there were times when the fielders played the Reds just opposite of what they were supposed to do. In that way they left gaps for the ball to fall safely."

Oh, and to answer the question, Bonds is the only of the 3 I'd vote for....

Barry Bonds, cause he was heading to the Hall even if he never touched steriods. He woulda been 500-500 without steriods. He may have never reached 600 homers but he still would have been one of the best players of this generation. McGwire needed the juice, and Rose is basically the scum of the Earth.
