Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
I really would be hardpressed to believe Coco has provided anything worthwhile on defense.
His hitting has sucked but I guess you can attribute that to his broken finger. But his defense shouldn't be this mediocre.
He just went diving after another ball in center that he had no business diving for. Letting a run score and giving up a triple in the process.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment

Game over, 6-0 Mariners when we had our ace going and they had Woods.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
David Ortiz said Friday that his hospital stay last week with an irregular heartbeat was because he was "stressing out and dehydrated."
Ortiz blamed some of the stress on being swept by the Yankees. "They decided to bring me to the hospital overnight," Ortiz said. "I was just dehydrated and I’m feeling better." We can only imagine what would happen if Alex Rodriguez went through the same thing, but for Ortiz it just adds to the legend of Big Papi.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
The only great play I can remember from Coco this year is the dive towards left field (a snapshot of it is actually my wallpaper). Granted my memory is crappy, but he hasn't been anything special IMO.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
I think Coco's reputation as a mediocre CF is warranted. He doesn't take good routes to balls and doesn't have great range. He is a downgrade defensively from Damon, and his arm is arguably as poor. And to be honest, I don't remember too many great plays from Coco defensively aside from the incredible David Wright catch.Comment

I'm with cam on this one. Coco has been anything but a liability out there. His bat at the top of the order has been atrocious though and I have no idea why he's still hitting there.Comment
