Dear God help us... what else could go wrong with the health of this team?? This by no means is to compare to Jon Lester - God bless man, we're all rooting for you - but now Papelbon walks off to an eery silence. Frankly I'm scared to even think what that could have been...

I have never really seen a team in my short years of watching baseball, hit so hard with injuries.
It's just gotten absurd, and aside from Manny, these aren't nagging injuries. Two guys in the hospital, one of which will be going back for treatment, and now our best pitcher looks like he's just shut himself down. I mean what do you do at this point?

Please, please, please, please, please be a pectoral strain.

And like it's been stated before, best wishes to Jon and the entire Lester family.

With the way our luck has been, I would be absolutely shocked if this is anything less than a torn rotator cuff.

Watching the postgame... poor Tito. Can't be easy holding it together at a time like this.

Also announced, Schill is being scratched from his next start.

I missed it...caught it when the guys in the studio were recapping. I think I heard "discomfort", but I'm not sure what it was about.

Read on SoSH that it's a strained lat (level 1). He'll miss his next start and hopefully that'll be it.

Papelbon said that they expect him to be at spring training with the team next year so that is good. I wish him and his family the best though because no one should have to go through that at such a young age.

                      You mean Lester.

Had me scared Paps was seriously injured too.

Papelbon can be anywhere from a sore/tired shoulder to a tonr rotator cuff... Nobody knows at this point.

I say they give him a week off even if it is alright. He is just to valuable to are future and we don't need him anymore this season really. So if it's serious I say we just shut him down for the season and see how Hansen does in the actual closer role.

Does anyone know who they're briging up for the 40 man roster? I hope they bring up Ellsbury, it would be fun to watch him. He's going to participate in the Arizona Fall League this fall to so they should help him progress playing against good competition. And Clay Buchholz was the Carolina League pitcher of the week the 21-27 going 2-0 1.13 era, 23 K, 4 BB. I think he got just called up to Wilmington a few weeks ago to so he looks like he is doing pretty good. He looks to be our top pitching prospect not counting Hansen.

I didn't know who was on the 40 so I was just asking. And I wasn't saying bring up Buchholz I was just posting that he was doing good. It would be cool to see Ellsbury play but I figured he probably wouldn't be on the 40 man roster.

Does any one have a link to the 40 man roster?
