I hate to say it, but this one is over.

    Derrick Turnbow is flat-out nasty

Down 2, 1 out and runners at second and third.

      Here comes Freddy to PH.

EDIT: Turnbow spears a liner up the middle. All up to Nate.

      Game over.

Unbelievable.....Freddy rips the ball and Turnbow caught it. This only happens to the Pirates.

Will we EVER have clutch hitting? Two men on, no outs, and they don't score a single run. PATHETIC.

And I missed the Daily Show on top of it all...lol

Dude can be as talented as God knows what, but the fact of the matter is any pitcher on the Brew Crew could outhit him right now so something needs to be done. I understand that Oliver is a tough pitcher, but when you're a top power hitting prospect, belt high fastballs end up in the upperdeck NOT in the glove of the catcher.

Up 1-0 after Duke escaped a couple early jams.

I don't know what the team record for grounding into double plays is but we've got to be pace to shatter it.

We've got a game here. Brewers up 3-2 in the 9th with 2 outs and the bases loaded.

                  Up comes Duffy.

EDIT: UGH, First pitch he pops it up

                  Pirates go down again.

Re: The 2006 Pittsburgh Pirate Thread

Terrible move by Duffy to swing at the first pitch after the Brewers pitcher walked the previous 2 hitters.

0-3. I don't think this team is going to see .500 again this year. They just don't seem any more prepared than the Lloyd teams. It's more of the same this year. No offense and very inopportune errors.

Hopefully things turn around and they can be around .500 throughout the year. PItching needs to be solid and need more out of the big hitters.

Really, what more can you say? In typical Pirate fashion, they're blowing close games. Duffy 0-4 with 3 K's. He's just not ready. They really need to sit him or send him down. Although he made a sweet diving catch tonight (actually that was a trap and not a catch). Otherwise, the Reds would've scored 1-2 more runs.

Well, the Pirates now have the distinction of being the only 0-4 team in MLB. Good job guys.

                            In AAA action last night:

                            - Eldred was 0-3 with 2K's
                            - Gorzelanny was 4IP, 8K, 1H, 2BB, 0R
                            - Ray Sadler hit 2 HR's

Not much else of note. Gorzo has a very nice statline. 2K's per IP? Nice.

Rain delay didn't slowdown Cincy. Pirates down 5-0 in the bottom of the 5th.

                              Maholm pitching terribly - 4IP, 4H, 5ER, 4BB, 2K

Eric Milton is shutting down the Pirates. Looks like it's 0-5.

For what it's worth, I think Castillo should be batting higher than 7th. I also hate that Tracy benched Jack Wilson tonight. Jack's been getting on-base very well so far this year.

Nate McLouth seems to have lost his hot streak. He's really slowed down since spring.

Well the Pirates made it a game in the end but come up short. Never heard that before.

One of these day's we'll have to fall into a win. Right?
