Re: Home of the Philadelphia Phillies
Notice how none of us are in here talking about their recent success? It's because we've seen stretches like this before....followed by miserable failure. The Phils aren't right back in it until the final game has been played, and our name is sitting at the top of the standings. Sad, but that's what we've come to expect.Comment

That's why I'm TRYING to enjoy one game at a time... Last night was hard to enjoy no matter what though. Hopefully tonight will be better.Comment

Re: Home of the Philadelphia Phillies
We don't like the way the ballpark plays either. Unfortunately the ownership is between a rock and a hard place when it comes to explaining the way the park plays. If they claim it's intentional, they look like idiots because they're subscribing to the notion that fans are stupid, can't appreciate good pitching, and only like to watch people running around the bases.
So instead, they've claimed it was accidental and nobody knew how that park would play while it was being built. Which also makes them look like idiots.
And the Phillies brass makes the ballpark look a lot worse than it actually is, by repeatedly acquiring the worst types of pitchers for the park - flyball, low-K guys like Adam Eaton, Eric Milton, and Ryan Franklin.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Home of the Philadelphia Phillies
This is why they are the Sillies.
They have the Mets right where they want them...only two games back...and for some reason, they do the whole tip-tap dance show.
Win one.
Lose one.
Win one.
Lose one.
Lose another one.
Win one.
Lose two more.
This team has done this many times before. It's their act.
It's the Phillies' way. If the starting pitching and the hitting are doing well, the bullpen is crap. If the starting pitching and bullpen are doing well, then it's the hitting that caves in. If the hitting and bullpen are doing well, then the freakin' starting pitching turns to ****.
And as a fan, you just sit there and want to bang your head on something. With the way they were playing with the sweeps and everything, you would think making up those two games to catch the Mets would've been simple.
[Charlie Murphy] WRONG. WRONG. We're talking about the Phillies, man. [/Charlie Murphy]
