Damn. Schill was great tonight, too. That sucks.

Can't beleive Papelbon blew the game, even harder to beleive Travis Buck hit a homerun off of him.

Okajima has been awesome this season. It has been great having another releiver in our pen who can consistently get people out. After giving up a homerun on his first pitch he hasn't given up a single run. And Jerry and Don pointed out that besides that homerun on opening day he's only give up four hits the entire year.

Coco is turning into a Web gem machine in CF. Overall, I'm a lot happier with what I'm seeing from him lately. His average is still down, but he's getting on base a lot more lately, he's been more patient at the plate, he's great in the field, great on the basepaths. He's just a good all around player right now.

Last night was a solid team game. Beckett and the bullpen pitched well and everyone in the lineup had a hit.

Beckett is finally learning how to use all of his pitches. He is scary good when he is pitching like this.

Beckett has looked really good this season, and I agree with Cam about Coco. He's look a lot better recently, and hopefully a full season will keep him performing at a higher level.

The bullpen has been the big surprise, though. Other than two nights ago, there haven't been many instances of the bullpen blowing games at all this year, and there are a lot more examples of the bullpen closing out games flawlessly than not. Okajima has been a big part of that.

Dice-K has been less then spectacular so far tonight. He hasn't been able to locate all night and has 5 walks. He's winning but it's just because our offense is doing pretty good tonight. Sox up 7-6 at the moment.

Didn't think we'd win that one after Dice-K's 1st inning. He gets himself in a lot of trouble with walks. I think they said 8 of his 14 walks have scored. Oh well. A win is a win. Nice to see Manny starting to heat up. Also, a 4-4 night for Wily Mo!

                      Transactions:

Mike Timlin was placed on the 15 day DL with shoulder tendinitis.

Devern Dansack was called up to replace him.

Jacoby Ellsbury was called up to AAA. He's been flat out dominating AA so it should be interesting to see how he does at the next level. I'm starting to think this guy might be ready for the majors sooner, rather than later.

He's been a monster so far this year. He was hitting .452 in AA with a .518 OBP with a few steals. I'd rather them not rush him up through the minors though. We really don't have a need for him, Coco has been hitting better lately and Lugo has been a good leadoff man this year.

Don and Jerry arguing about beds. Someone want to tell them were only up by one run? It's pretty funny though.

I know its been discussed to death on WEEI, but damn, maybe it's time to start playing Cora everyday. 13 for his last 29.

Tavarez pitched pretty good last night, and we caught Santana on and off night but our offense still wasn't able to produce. Hopefully Tavarez can pitch like that a little more often. We probably could've won that game last night if we weren't going up against Santana and then the Twins bullpen which is pretty good.

Nothing like blowing an 8 run lead in the 9th. Way to go guys.
