    Re: Boston Red Sox: 2007

Um, hell yes. My girl was riding me, and not in the good way, up until it was 6-3. Amazing game and we need to take advantage with Beckett and Dice-K against Karstans and Wright. Some questionable calls from Torre, but he's not known for his brilliant in-game management anyways.

Now...the bad part. The last two years we've survived A-Rod. He's been a great talent but he's never made you say "Oh damn, it's A-Rod." When me and my girl were listening to this in the car, when he came up in the at-bat in which he jacked the 3-run homer, I said "It's A-Rod, oh $hit." Not good.

lol. I was across the hall. Walked in RIGHT as Coco lined his triple. Oh my ****ing God.

So pissed when Papelbon didn't come in. I hate to say it, but Rivera, or any of the other elite closers, would've pitched that game, even if they had just pitched the previous two games. I understand it was Terry's decision, but we got lucky today that it didn't backfire.

Pap had thrown a combined fifty pitches on back to back days. They needed to save him tonight so they could have him the next two. Look at the Yankees, they tried to get 5 outs from Rivera tonight and now he likely won't be available for both Saturday and Sunday.

I must say I was surprised at how effective Okajima was. The hitters definitely couldn't get a solid read on him. They need to ride out this Okajima hot streak until the batters figure him out.

Yah there was no way Papelbon was pitching that game regardless of situation. He had thrown those 50 pitches in a span of basically 36 hours.

Yeah, I forgot that the second game Paps pitched was a day game. That makes a little more sense.

And yet another wonderful start to the game. Our starters have not looked good at all.

Nomar's homer off Pedro. Those four words just shouldn't go together. Not even on a day like 6/6/6. ~Bill Simmons

I don't know how you can really say that. Schilling pitched pretty good to everyone besides A-Rod, I don't know how Beckett looked early on since my cable was out but now he looks pretty good with 7 K's through 6 innings.

Looks like Papelbon will come in for the 9th today.

Another nice win by the Sox. Josh Becketts 4-0 now. Papelbon got his fifth save of they year. Beckett pitched decently, he had some trouble early in the game but settled down and had a nice stretch going in the middle innings where he retired like ten in a row.

Schilling did not have very good stuff yesterday. He got outs, and didn't have a horrible game, but he got hit pretty hard, could rarely find the strikezone.

Beckett looked shaky early on, but finished very strong. It was a nice outing by him.

I guess for pitching against the Yankees, though, they have both have good starts. Just so used to them pitching these gems against worse teams.

Looks like Dice-K pitched A-Rod in alright.

Strikes out the side...with a little trouble in between.
