Manny gets a 2 run single, 4 straight hits for the Sox. Still no outs and Drew is up to bat.

    3-1 Sox

Another nice outing from Beckett. I'm hoping he can become the ace of this staff, but I refuse to get duped like last year when he got off to a great start. Right now he is committed to his off-speed pitches and I like that, I just hope he sticks with that even when he has a couple bad starts.

And today marked the first sweep of the season, granted it should have been a 4 game series instead of a 3 game one. Hopefully there are more to come.

Tomorrow night it's back to the house of horrors. Hopefully Mastuzaka fares better there than basically everybody in the rotation did last year. I can see him having success against and aggressive lineup like Toronto's, though I hope he doesn't try to challenge Wells with any high fastballs because we know he can kill those. Frank Thomas scares me a little because he has always been a great breaking ball pitcher and if Daisuke hangs any to him like he did Sexson they're sure to go a long way.

I saw that on SportsCenter last night, and was like, "There's no way that just happened!!" ESPN.com says that it was inteded for Garrett Anderson, and the guy missed.

Yea Jerry and Don make it so much funnier. I think they're one of the best groups of announcers in baseball. They're not wicked serious and like to have fun doing their job and make it fun to watch.

Willy Mo just crushed a ball to straight away center field. I mean that ball went farrrrrr, definately going to be on Baseball Tonight and I suggest you all see it.

                    That was ridiculous.

Even better was Vernon Wells' reaction...he just sorta watched it, barely moved.

Matsuzaka should of struck out Wells there. Instead he gets an infield hit which he could of been out on to. Then Matsuzaka walks someone and Wells ends up scoring on a single after that.

Well not a bad outing for Dice-K. He didn't get the win because he got into some trouble during the 4th inning. But he did get 10 K's again and looked very impressive every inning besides the 4th, but after that he bounced back and struck out the side in the 5th.

Only gave up 2 runs, so if the Red Sox could've scored a few more runs it would have been another great outing for Dice-K.

WILY MO! Man, I wish he could get some more playing time. As much as I like the Drew pickup in the offseason, I wish Pena could get some more at bats. I think with a couple more years and a little more discipline, he could be one of the premier power threats in the league.

But yeah, that ball was absofreakinlutely destroyed!

                            Sox win tonight 4-1.

I didn't watch a lot of the game because its the Celtics last game of the season. But I tuned in to watch Papelbon shut the door in the 9th. He had a little trouble at first but then he struck out 2 people to end the game and he made them look silly doing it .

It looked like it was going to be a long night when hitter after hitter kept popping up these ugly hangers thrown by Ohka, but they got the job done in the end. I can't remember the last time Wakefield had that good a knuckleball. It was completely unpredictable, some breaking like a slider/curve and some like a screwball. He can be fun to watch when he's on one of his hot streaks.

Put Tavarez on the side, and how phenomenal has this starting rotation been? Usually I feel over the last few years that we have a chance to win any given night thanks to our offense, but I am feeling that way no matter who is pitching right now. That said, i truly think Wakefield will finish with average, but not bad stats, and that Beckett will come back to earth but still finish with some very nifty numbers if he stays off the DL.
