I guess we could shop Pineiro around but unless someone offers us a good deal I don't think we should trade him, aslong as he is pitching good we should keep him right?

It may only be Spring Training, but it's always nice to see the Red Sox knock Santana around.

        Yes, indeed

Nomar's homer off Pedro. Those four words just shouldn't go together. Not even on a day like 6/6/6. ~Bill Simmons

Daisuke today: 4 innings, 4 walks.

Second straight start with as many walks as innings pitched, perhaps a sign of a potential problem heading into the season?

Hopefully not, but it very well could be.

                Well.

It'll be trial by fire with this bullpen today, it seems. Schilling won't last 5 innings.

Great to see that we can run the bases with no problems.

I hate stupid mistakes, all these guys overrate their speed and then get thrown out by a mile.

Indeed it has, nothing hasty about that comment. Tough to watch when you just want to see a baseball game that matters...

Damn, I was pretty bummed I couldn't watch the game today due to work, but now not so much. Still great to have baseball back though.

What was Schill's biggest problem today? Fastball location? Velocity? Off-speed command? I didn't get to see it so I don't know but from the highlights I saw it looked like the fastball was getting way too much plate and staying belt high.

He didn't really have any pitches that he could consistently throw for strikes. Nothing seemed to be working for him and he just seemed "off". Hopefully it was just a one time thing.

And I know it was only one game but someone had to say it: Lugo 1-4, 3 K's

Schill commented on his lack of command via his blog, http://38pitches.com

"Not sure where to even start. Two words sum it up best, no command. Can’t remember a game where I couldn’t make adjustments but today was certainly one of those. Not so much the secondary pitches but no fastball command is not something that happens much, if at all, over an entire game (even if the ‘game’ for me only lasts 4 innings)."

Fastball location and too much confidence in his change-up.
