    Re: Boston Red Sox: 2007

Thoughts from watching some of that ****fest at the bar...

The offense looked like it had no spark at all. They even looked asleep. This was especially true for Mike Lowell, Jason Varitek, and Coco Crisp. Those three guys look like they are in for abysmal offensive seasons.

I hate to be the pessimistic, woe is me type of fan, but I really just don't see why people like this 2007 team so much. I see a lot of people choosing them for the World Series and I just don't see it. The bottom half of the lineup is highly suspect. 90% of the bullpen is riddled with has-beens and giant question marks. The starting rotation appears kinda strong on paper, but half the rotation is filled with old farts who are likely to break down.

Does anybody have faith in Coco Crisp? I just think he's a massive bust and I would like to see them get rid of him. Varitek is cooked yet continues to be worshipped because he "can handle pitchers". Frankly, I find his game calling to be questionable at best (Okajima's first pitch was incredibly obvious), but I nor anybody else have any way of proving how well he calls a game.

So I guess you can call me negative or whatever, but until I see some shred of performance from the question marks on this team, I will continue to doubt.

Also, why did Wily Mo Pena pinch hit for J.D. Drew yesterday?

Just trying to get him an at bat. J.D. Drew is fine incase you're wondering if he got injured.

Weird game last night. 3 errors from Lowell is unheard of. The first one was a real tough play, but the second two should have been routine.

I really liked what I saw from Beckett, even though he had some control issues. He mixed in the breaking pitches much better and even threw the curve for strikes as the game went on. If he can get past the control problems, I can see him having a very good year.

Minus Lowell's errors I thought it was a good all around game for the Sox. It was nice to see Youk poke one out as well.

Let's hope Dice-K has a strong outing today, gyroball or no gyroball

They actually hit the ball pretty well. I think Lowell's and Drew's warning track fly balls have a chance to get out in August.

Looking forward to today's game, even though I have to listen to it on the radio.

I'm home sick today so I'll be able to watch Dice-K get his first start. Hopefully it's a good game.

Under two hours until we finally get to see him in a regular season start.

This may be the most excited I've been for a Sox game since before last season.

He's out on the field warming up now. It's unbelievable how much attention one man can get.

I can't wait. Imagine if the man throws a CG, 2 hitter. Japan will explode.

Ortiz down on three pitches. Ouch.

Grienke looks loose as hell for a guy who had anxiety issues. Good curve too.

Manny with a RBI double, I love baseball and Manny's swing/watch.

Not a terrible 1st inning. No runs allowed but a couple hits, looks like he might need to keep his pitches down a little more. But he started a nice double play to end the inning.
