What a way to end a four game losing streak!

I love Jacoby Ellsbury, but I also love Coco. I'm glad I'm not deciding the future of this organization in the offseason.

What happened?! Thinking this is well in hand with a 10-1 lead, I leave the game to finish up some laundry and get in another game of The Show before the long weekend is over and then I turn the game back on and it's 13-10! It's these horribly inconsistent outings by Daisuke that make me feel like this team can't go very deep into the postseason unless the offense really gets going (and stays going).

Beckett gets win #17 and the kids continue to produce. Ellsbury was a double away from the cycle.

Bucholz is being moved into the bullpen for hopefully just the rest of the season.

I almost lost it when Drew hit into that double play with the bases loaded to end the 8th. I'm just sick of him. I feel like I've been really patient with him all year but my goodwill is gone. For at least the rest of the year, Ellsbury should be the starting right fielder over Drew. And why, after Ellsbury has a great game at leadoff on Monday, is he banished to the bottom of the order in favor of Lugo? Lugo is almost as worthless as Drew at this point and should never hit above 8th (and only 8th when Cash/Mirabelli is in the lineup). Add that to Francona sitting Pedroia yesterday, only the hottest hitter along with Ellsbury on the club, in favor of 1 for 16 Cora and one can see why my opinion of Francona is lessening with each day.

On a happier note, Buchholz, after a shaky start to his first inning loading the bases with no outs, has pitched 3 innings of scoreless relief and is in line for a win tonight if Papelbon can hold this one-run lead. The future is bright.

I was a fan of bringing in Nancy Drew, but oh how i was wrong. As soon as Drew stepped up, I knew he was gonna ground into a DP.

Clay looked like **** to start off, but really got into a groove after the nice DP started by Lowell.

And Pap came in throwing heat

Opponents are 1 for their last 45 off of Papelbon. That's just insane.

Nice win today. You can always count on the Red Sox to get into the head of Cabrera at least once a season. I don't really know how his teammates could defend him on that one, unless Pedroia is a really unlikable guy if you're an opponent of his.

Big two out RBI hit for Coco to give the Red Sox a 3-2 lead in the 8th. If the Sox can hold this lead and win it gives Beckett a realistic shot at 20 wins this season with three starts remaining.

Melvin Mora with the first hit off Papelbon since August 17th, a bloop jam-shot that landed in behind shortstop.
