Huge, I didn't think he would've done anything there.

Or Brewer fans. 5 fricken errors don't win many ballgames. I think the Crew was/is nervous and can't take the pressure with the young kids.

              Maybe next year.

We choked our own lead, albeit a wild card one, but we didn't have such the lead the Mets had.

Now if only had Boston kept losing...

Sure nice to see linebrink do that for someone else. Greene goes deep and the Padres lead 6 - 3.

2 on for the Brewers, 1 out.

Earning forgiveness? We make the playoffs we may meet up in the NLCS again.

I like how yesterday Bud Black did not hesitate to remove Cassel in spite of him coming short of qualifying for a win. This series is crucial and all the Padres need is one more win to clinch the wild card.

That's why I said "almost." There's work to be done, still.

                            A game of ironies.

Tony Gwynn Jr. gets the game-tying hit off of Trevor Hoffman.

Joe Thatcher, one of the three players involved in the Linebrink trade, gives up the game-winning run.

Hoffy's not done, but I think next year will be his final year.

We have other problems to deal with on this team, but about the closing role, I think they should ease Heath Bell into it, having him take over in August eventually, but have Hoffman pitch the save situations in the final home stand as a good bye if he decides that 2008 will be his last season.

It's disheartening to see people just bash him to no end. Makes me think what would've happened to Tony if he had struck out in an at bat at the end of the season with the tying/game-winning run.

I'll back that up. Fellows, it's been excruciating. Next year can't get here soon enough. And worst yet, I have to stomach watching the Yankees in the playoffs.
