We're playing the Red Sox? ESPN isn't doing a good job informing me.

Anyways, we should've had the last game too. I find it funny how the minute yesterday's game is over, Yahoo! Sports and ESPN are so quick to get the recap in and put in the front page, yet today there's no mention of Chris Young's dominance and the Red Sox losing and it took them a while to put together a recap.

It'd be pretty amazing with what this team's record would be with a decent offense.

Peavy needs to bear down... not a good stretch for him.

In the end, props to the Padres holding down the Red Sox juggernaut offense over the three game series. Holding them to 7 runs in three games usually gets you a series win though so no soup for the offense for not picking up Jake yesterday nor helping out Wells on Friday.

Good series though, I'm looking forward to this one against the Giants with Tim Lincecum pitching today.

502nd career save for Hoffman, most importantly it's his 500th save as a Padre. Nice to take one here after losing the one last night. 3 home runs, all solo shots for the Padres.

Can we get runners on base for those long balls? That'd be nice.

              Re: San Diego Padres 2007

I wouldn't be shocked if the Padres lead the league in the percentage of solo shots out of home runs. Another one today by Khalil, giving him 13 on the year. The Giants did themselves in with an error by the backup shortstop who is playing in place of an injured Omar Vizquel. Maddux earns his 340th and Hoffman gets save number 21 this season.

Another big, division series coming up as the Padres head onto Los Angeles, hoping for better fortunes this time as they lost the series at LA when the two clubs met early in April.

well it looks like we are adding Milton Bradley to our lineup

                M. Giles
                B. Giles
                Agon
                Cam
                Bradley
                Barrett
                Greene
                Koooouuzz?

is that how you would do it?

Not really official until Sunday, so who knows? Previous Bradley deals have fallen through.

I think that's how the lineup will be (no more platooning Sledge/Cruz. Cruz is only effective as a starter early in the season, but career numbers shown he tapers off. Sledge... has been Terrible this year). Brian will probably move back to LF and Bradley taking over in RF if this trade does happen.

I hope the minor league pitcher does not end up being Manny Ayala, Wade LeBlanc, or Drew Miller.

I think Brown could've been used in another trade, but I can live with it.

Watch him become the Jack Cust of pitchers for the A's.

wow, I have been pretty impressed with the moves latley....Michael Barrett who could have high reward but, padres got him at low risk

Same now with Milton Bradley and on top of that think of it like this now

Padres trade Barfield and get Kouz, Milton Bradley....good job towers.

Being able to acquire Bradley is moreso on the teams that decided to pass up Andrew Brown when the Padres put him on waivers (to demote him to AAA).

Is it enough? I don't know, but I believe with these two moves the other teams in the division have their wheels spinning looking to make their own.

It's a lot better than seeing Cruz (no knock on him, best suited coming off the bench for us), Branyan, Bocachica, and Sledge out there platooning.

About time...Padres put B.Giles as a Leadoff....geez only took them how long?? this is the best move they have made to the lineup...Hopefully this will stay.

B.Giles works the count and draws a walk...WAHOO!

                              Is the Lineup like this.

                                I'll take Barfield .265 avg. 36 RBI's and 8 SB's over Kouz's .217 avg, 30 RBI at this point.

Still don't see how Kouz is an improvement.
