The Dodgers have so much talent in AAA that it's ridiculous. Kemp/Billingsley are expendable IMO and if that's what it takes to land another bat near the trading deadline, then so be it. It'll help for the short term at least, as we're another hitter away from legitimately contending for the pennant.

I could be wrong.
Edit: I also hope the Giants panic and trade some of that young pitching for a catcher for one year like they did a few years back.Comment

We all know they aren't going to acquire anyone significant heading down the stretch.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
Of course as soon as he has another 4/21 stretch (Because those of us who watch baseball know that only the very best of the best don't have stretches llike that) I'm sure you'll come running back in here for another one of your beloved "I told you so " moments. Gosh I can hardly wait, they're so exciting.
Here's something I stumbled upon. Now I'm surprised this guy is still in baseball considering his struggles at the plate in his 2nd year in the bigs. He had a 26 game stretch where he hit an amazing .161, had an OBP of .181 and an otherworldly slugging percentage of .200 giving him a whopping .381 OPS. On top of that he SO 30 times in 105 PA, that's 1 SO for every 3.5 PA's. Can somebody please tell me why this guy was even givine a chance to continue after such a gawdawful stretch?Last edited by Alliball; 06-14-2007, 02:33 AM.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
Sure tastes good doesn't it. Say hi to KT, when you're strapping on the knee pads.
Yes, I want him to fail, because I dare to criticize the home team. Please. You can swallow as much as you want, don't get upset when others don't.
Yes he did have a terrible stretch, and if you remember was rumored to be a couple of days away from being in Portland. He's just another hitter in the lineup who's failed to produce, like just about every hitter in the lineup not named Gonzalez. You want to declare him a hall of famer, feel free.
With all the "you're a *****" type comments because I don't think everything is great in Padre land, you should really think about being a Cowboy fan. That's play #1 in their playbook.Last edited by bkrich83; 06-14-2007, 09:31 AM.Comment

At what point have I said or even implied he is a Hall of Famer? It's funny that any time somebody wants to feel good a player that you don't trust or like they are a kool-aide drinker.
As soon as Kouz slipped a touch you had no problem running here mentioning it. It's pretty sad when all is said in done.
I retrospect, I guess it's a good thing the Angels had more fiath in thier young players otherwise Troy Glaus would be flipping burgers today.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
Padres 3B Kevin Kouzmanoff left the game in the fourth inning after he appeared to hurt himself swinging the bat. The Padres said he had a lower back strain and is day to day.Comment
