Yes, because merely pointing out that Kouzmanoff has been playing better not only against the Mariners but the past couple of weeks automatically qualifies as if I'm defending everything Padres.

Geez, may heaven forbid I ever show any support for any of the current Padre players just because a popular-yet-only-decent second basemen was traded away for him.

Even the lowly Kevin Maas you compare Kouzmanoff to had more than 1000 at bats to define his putrid career. In just over 1/10ths of that its laughable that people like you are writing away Kouzmanoff and calling the trade a bust. Why don't we wait a year or so before we judge eh? Trades easily shift from favorable to unfavorable (Mike Cameron and Xavier Nady, Mike easily outproduced Xavier in every aspect in 2006, but this year it'd be nice to have Xavier Nady running around in CF, seeing that Mike Cameron has been letting balls drop left and right to the point that maybe Xavier Nady's play in CF would be no different).

      And a HBP.

      Bottom of the order:

      0-9 with 6 K's and 12 LOB.

      22 LOB.

      Team LOB: 11

But of course you only pinpoint one player when its a team effort.

Only four players have contributed to the game today, Marcus, A-Gon, Khalil, and Germano. Everyone else deserves an egg.

You honestly going to try to say you don't defend them at all costs, ala the truth?

And you of course will make excuses for him. Kind of tough to miss the guy we traded for, who's hitting under .180, whom many here seem to think is "getting it", after he leaves 7 runners on base.

As I said earlier this lineup sucks, and no matter what you or Truth say this team has not improved from previous years.

I don't always defend the padres i just don't see why every single post has to be bashing of the padres..I can sit right here and type out everything i see wrong with the padres but, where is that going to go???

              I don't see the point...

Kouz singles to LF....but, AGON gets held up, is it his fault that they didn't score?? just curious

I'd like you to point out where I said this team's lineup improved... C'mon bkrich, pointing out Kouzmanoff has been hitting better does not equal an automatically better lineup.

Fortunately Adrian got out of his slump. I'll take that any day for my fantasy team.

Give me credit, it's a lot more creative and straight-forward than this offense.

Well, maybe half the time on moves I can see why they did them and if they had no alternatives and if I disagree with whatever someone says (i.e. power with TheTruth and you with the Kouzmanoff stuff).

But trades like the Giles trade, signing Mark Bellhorn, and I'm still kicking myself over the B-Law/Castilla trade because we would've been better served doing something else I don't support. You can't have it both ways I know, you're either more of an optimist or a pessimist, but I'm really trying to look at it on both sides.

I really don't want to frustrate myself too much with the Padres.

Yeah sitting around and praising them off for being mediocre at best, is much more productive.

Kouz is really tearing it up.

Didn't say you said their lineup improved, although you implied that when you said this team was improved, just underachieving.

They aren't underachieving, they simply aren't that good.

                                You're good.

Anyways, that's what frustrates me over this team. Cameron could be doing better. Kouzmanoff could be doing better and a couple of other players, but they're not executing and that's much more important than saying X player has more upside than Y player of last year. Everything looks better on paper, but they play the games because the paper and all those predictions don't mean squat. If they did, Ryan Howard and Albert Pujols would be having better seasons, Chris Carpenter would be a Cy-Young contender again and the Brewers wouldn't be leading the NL Central.

I still think they're underachieving, but perhaps with the exception of 3B, 2B, 1B, and the pitching outside of Wells and Thompson, maybe everything else was more a downgrade that I didn't expect. Cruz is expectedly slowing down... maybe Cameron is done and hopefully they don't keep him, Bard has been a disappointed, and Big Brother Giles isn't doing much at all, maybe I was expecting more than what they're capable of. Oh well, more power to me to criticize this team because of my lofty expectations. It's WS or bust in the end no?

Players start producing, different situation, but that's where reality kicks in and it is what it is.
