Re: San Diego Padres 2007
No one in AAA, I doubt Headley gets called up, maybe Robles gets called up and Branyan takes over 3B against righties and Blum against lefties... preferably I'd leave Branyan out there.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
Hardly? Oh come on now you're drinking the BK kool-aide. Your post on June 1st was just your way of doing another BK "I told you so". It's a darn shame you can't wrap your brain around your own psychology.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
Again, if I wanted to post "I told you so" every time he stunk it up, I would have been able to do it a lot more often than just June 1st. But keep on defending all things Padre no matter what. I guess that makes you a better "fan" than I.Comment

15-day DL. I'm guessing the injury is much worse and usually when its first reported that's what comes out.

I am with you on Robles probably being called up. Or what about a guy like Menechino or Stansberry? I guess that's the problem not a lot of MLB ready players at the AAA level.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
No reason to bring Headley up. If anything bringing him up now, may ****** his progress. As far as Branyan vs. lefties vs. Blum vs. Lefties, I am with you, I am almost inclined to prefer Branyan just play every day.

I think Robles has the upperhand on the other two if out of those three players one of them were to be called up. If Stansberry was called up, he'd probably get the Jon Knott treatment and pinch hit a few games, get a start or two, and then never be heard from again.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
Kouzmanoff isn't headed to the DL (yet, I'll wait a few days before I believe he's really day-to-day). For the time being, the Padres have send down Paul McAnulty and called up Chase Headley.
I'm guessing Chase Headley will only be here a few games unless he absolutely tears things up. Maybe they don't want Blum or Branyan facing the lefties Chicago is throwing out over the weekend.
With that being said, it's not a move that baffles my mind, but I would've liked to see someone else get called up since the move isn't permanent and since Kouzmanoff nor Headley have any experience elsewhere on the field should one displace the other at third. Just goes to show you the Padres FO has no confidence in anyone in their AAA level except for Royce Ring and Andrew Brown, regardless of how Stansberry, Sinisi, Cust (while he was here), and a select number of other players who have done quite well there only to not get a look.
Whatever, go Padres?
(I'm actually stoked that he's getting a minor chance, but he should remember he's not being asked to win the job and just keep his head in the game and not try to do too much).Last edited by BatsareBugs; 06-15-2007, 12:30 AM.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
Tip of the cap to Zambrano, because he's flat out dealing, but damn, this lineup is pathetic.
I sure like the bat speed and swing of Headley, but from what I see, he's just not ready yet. He's been overmatched in the AB's I have seen. He's gotta be a year or two away realistically. It's a shame he had to be called up now. I hope this doesn't wreck him.Comment

Great win today. Most likely the most exciting 2 hit 1 - 0 game I have seen. Should be entertaining tomorrow.Comment

Re: San Diego Padres 2007
Definitely. Terrible Sledge is not a #2 hitter and Khalil Greene is not #5 hitter.
How we're winning the division with this offense is beyond me. The pitching has been lights out and the Seattle Mariners series proved what happens when the pitching doesn't have it's A game.Comment
