Too bad I liked Wells; however I like winning more.
Held onto Wells a couple of starts too long.

So that definitely means Hensley is back in the rotation, but Ledezma will make a spot start in the slot that Wells was in because Hensley must stay a full 10 days before being called back up.

Wow. Watching the Padres play baseball is painful. Another pathetic performance by the offense.

Yep. The Padres best hitter is injured (Milton Bradley), Adrian Gonzalez is still slumping, and the team is surrounded by inconsistent hitting.

Is there anyone capable of leading off that'll be a free agent next year?

A great couple of games in ny. Nice to see some exciting baseball for a change, and of course it's always nice to beat the mets.

Gotta love the Milton Bradley signing. We are a different team with him in the lineup. Great end to an excellent series tonight.

Congratulations to Jake on becoming the Padres all-time strikeout leader.

I say pay the guy, pitchers like these don't come through a team all that often and if they aren't going to pony up and pay the money to get a "big bat", then you might as well take a page out of AJ Smith's book and keep players in house that are worth keeping to nice extensions.

It's amazing to me that he's already the franchise's all time strike out leader considering the Padres have been around since 1969.

This is the Padres we are talking about. Hell Andy Benes held the previous record. That should tell you all you need to know.

Remember when they first brought him up. You'd thought Cy Young himself was coming to town, the way the Pads management talked.

He always had that one inning where he'd give up a HR and then fall apart.

LOL, the Padres season is never complete without the acquisition of a retread.

                          Welcome back Brett Tomko.

This team is backwards. They can beat up on Brandon Webb, but make Doug Davis look like Cy Young.

Good turn around by Kouz. Even if he ends up at .260 to end the year, that's still a hell of a comeback from batting .108 early May.

I think he'll get better, and hopefully Barfield can get his game together. It's too bad that he's struggled in Cleveland and I thought he'd do quite well there too.
