    Re: San Diego Padres 2007

Went to the game last night.

Greene looks like a completely different hitter than he did a year ago. From a defensive standpoint, I'll put the Padres infield up against any in the league.

The bomb Nady hit last night was SMOKED. Damn that was a shot. When did Scott Hairston learn how to hit?

Another game winning blast for him tonight. Great game.

The thing with Khalil is that he's too streaky, but right now I think he's got himself focused. Had a tough time against Ian Snell today, but he's been hitting well the past two months. If he'd make some adjustments, he could raise that batting average a bit, but 20+ home runs and 80+ RBIs coming from a position that general doesn't have players achieve those numbers is nice. It's too bad some people here criticize him as if he's supposed to be the source of offense. IMO I think he's perfect for a number 6 hitter.

I didn't get to see the bomb by Nady, but I'm glad he's doing well given the opportunity to play everyday. I think he'll only get better since there's no "veteran" to block him of playing time when he's dealing with a slump. I'd certainly take him over Sledge right now.

That was great. Props to Kouzmanoff for working the count, fighting some tough pitches to draw a walk and keep the inning alive.

Yeah they are playing good, but it will be hard to catch the D back.

Right now, they need to just focus on the division since the Dodgers seem like they don't care anymore.

Haha, not going to happen though. I'd be surprised if we come back.

I don't even want to see the Padres make the playoffs. Young and Maddux have been struggling and our offense won't step up. I find the loss of Bradley bigger than losing Cameron (Cameron is hitting .139 I think this month).

Oh well, things don't look good next year, but things look bright for 2009.

Come on now, with both the Braves and Cardinals out of it we got a good chance, since they were really the only teams to dominate us this year.

I'd feel more comfortable with the lineup of Giles, Blum, Kouzmanoff, Gonzalez, Bradley, Greene, Cameron, Bard, Pitcher, but now we have to rely on Brady Clark and whoever in LF.

I'll see, but right now the Padres are stumbling.

Props to the Padres front office for pissing away another season. Way to take the lead from the Chargers.

At least I still have USC.

If USC was in San Diego, they'd find a way to choke. San Diego Sports, choking at its finest.

But we won the AFL championship in .....1963 doesn't that count for something?
