look at the bottom and it says some garbage about games being pre-empted from channel 34 due to Blazer games but being available on an alternative channel but of course not in HD. Now explain to me how the Blazer game being on channel 34 at 7:30 wont allow them to show the Mariners game in HD on channel 788? They promise all these games and they dont even show them, sounds like a joke to me personally.
Well it's on now. I had a feeling that hockey game was just running overtime or whatever, and I guess I was right. 4th inning and it's on in HD -- but honestly? I don't see how this is a better choice for Comcast. They have to go through the trouble of getting these games shown on a channel that has barely anything to do with sports...when THEY COULD JUST BE OFFERING ONE LITTLE CHANNEL -- FSN HD!!

Man...it sure is taking Ichiro a long time to settle in this year.

.192 avg, but what really surprises me -- 8 strikeouts. Most people don't ever bother to look at strikeout numbers, especially with Ichiro, but he has been supreme in that category IMHO -- only striking out 63 times in 2005 and 71 times in 2006. For a guy that logs 650-700 ABs a year, that's amazing IMHO. However...already...in just the first two weeks of the season...Ichiro has struck out 8 times. That sets him on pace to strike out 200 times in this season...

      Is that going to happen?

No -- I'm just trying to illustrate how poorly he's opened up the season this year.

However, I have to say I'm overall happy with how the M's have played so far. It can't be easy to get into a season and suddenly be benched for like...five days...

They've played pretty well, and I can only hope it continues. Most of all, though, I hope that Ichiro gets comfortable quick!

Wow, what are the odds of Ichiro and Vidro hitting homers in the same inning?

Nice to see the M's bounce back in the bottom half of the inning.

Or Vidro hitting 2 HRs in the first two innings?

No kidding. Maybe the bats are waking up after all those days off.

Ramirez is throwing a ton of pitches, but he's throwing much better than he did against Cleveland in the snow.

I was at Safeco today and Ichiro definitely looks like he's got his groove back. Nice to see the M's tattooing the ball all over the field. The Rangers looked dreadful, though. Couldn't pitch, couldn't field. And I don't know who this Kata was they had playing third base but it looked like they plucked him out of the stands and gave him a glove. The only reason he had two errors instead of four was because of the generosity of the Mariners' scorekeeper.

Good to see Ichiro got his groove back. I was worried that it was taking a little while, but one great game later his avg shoots up nearly 100 points. Ahh, the early days of the season.

And another thing -- if the M's can keep taking 2 out of 3 from their series, they will be in a good position at the end of the year. I think they're looking pretty good so far.

Its nice to see them take 2 of 2 series against the AL West so far. How many series against the West did Seattle even win last year?

Next Friday starts a big 7 game road stretch against the AL West.

Surprise, Surprise -- Weaver lit up like a freakin' hundred watt lightbulb, Torii Hunter hitting a GRAND SLAM off of him. He was clearly cursing into the wind "God Damnit!" -- I feel the SAME WAY, JEFF!!

I want to give him a chance because it's still early, but damn...I'll say it again...I NEVER WANTED WEAVER....

You guys still sure you'd rather have Weaver than Baek?

                    How sure, exactly?

I'll give him a few more starts to build up his arm. His velocity is down into the mid 80's on his fastball. He either needs more work or has an arm issue that hasn't been made public. I'd guess he needs more work.

Felix leaves the game after allowing 2 runs on 24 pitches, having signaled to the BP that there was a problem.

                            Good news for Felix

This is just another reason why I'm very glad they brought him along slowly -- instead of blowing out his arm or suffering a bad strain, Felix's only problem injury wise from last night is that he has the mildest strain possible, and probably won't even be put on the DL. After what happened last night, I was scared as hell...but now?

Now I'm thanking god that we didn't overwork him last season.

                              Saw this in the PI...

"Baek, 27, got bounced after 4 1/3 innings by the Rangers, taking his place in a rotation that outside of Hernandez's two healthy starts has yielded a 2-8 record and 9.10 ERA."

Ugh. The good news is that the starting pitching can't continue to be this bad all season. Thanks to a bad division there's still hope.

I saw on USSMariner yesterday that 100% of Mateo's inherited runners have scored this season. When will they dump that clown?

I guess when they can find someone better. Technically, he's not the worst pitcher out there, but when he's one of the best guys you have in your BP that even has a little experience in the majors, you're in trouble. I really think that Baek did okay for the position he was in, and as a number 5, he could be good. I think that once Ibanez' bat wakes up and some other guys start performing normally, that they will pick up for some of the pitching, and this WON'T be the worst season ever -- but you really can't expect anything special with Hargrove in charge, and I feel like the owners of the Mariners don't even give a crap.

                                We're just kinda...lost...
