I was traveling over the weekend and didn't get to see any of the M's Saturday or Sunday...what's the word with Beltre's wrist? I haven't had much time to see how severe the sprain is.

Beltre was supposed to miss two to three games. I haven't heard yet if he's playing tonight. Bloomquist has filled in pretty well defensively at 3B and even got a couple of hits the other night.

Pretty pumped for the game tonight. Just moved back to Tacoma, and can't wait to watch Felix pitch tonight. Should be fun.

Felix still hasn't regained command of his pitches yet. He was missing his target by a mile on some pitches and putting a lot of pitches out over the plate. He settled down a bit after the second but he's still not anywhere close to being back to the form of his first two starts.

Still, the M's overcame an early 4-1 deficit for the second game in a row and won it 7-4. It seems like they're always getting hits with men in scoring position.

Went to the game last night...there was NOBODY there. Anyway, awesome game with the M's getting the W. Felix pitched pretty bad. I don't really understand his mentality. He throws 40 sliders and all these breaking pitches and isn't even going with his fastball, which is his best pitch. When he threw the sliders they were left right over the middle and they were crushed for base hits. A lot of hard hit balls last night for the Orioles.

The umpire called a really tight game...if that ball was even a fraction off the plate it was automatically a ball. Even so, I still don't understand why Felix is throwing these other pitches and not reverting back to his fastball. From what I saw, he topped out at 94 MPH, when I've seen him get 98-99 this year.

With that said, the offense is looking better and better. Biggest difference between last year and this year is that we are getting base hits with 2 outs. Even if there is nobody on and a guy hits a double or single with 2 outs, its an upgrade from last year. Last year, when the opposition got 2 outs on us it was inning over.

Wow, a three game sweep of the Padres, all three of them come-from-behind wins. The M's just seem to be getting a big hit now whenever they need one and there are no holes in the lineup. It says something when the guy I have the least confidence in during clutch at-bats (Richie Sexson) is on pace for another 100+ RBI season.

Hell, even Jeff Weaver didn't look half bad during his outing.

The first game the Mariners did not trail at all, so that hardly counts as a come-from-behind win.

Another nail-biter win by the M's.

The bullpen has been nothing short of spectacular lately. And to top it off Mark Lowe is probably only 3 weeks away from making it back to the big club.

We're going to need Lowe by then if our starters can't go more than 5 or 6 innings. The bullpen will be burned out by July at this rate.

Good lord it seems like every game the starter has his pitch count up around 40 by the end of the second inning. Come out of the gate firing strikes, guys.

And Morrow can only be the setup guy for so long. He has one pitch, absolutely no control, and yet he's been nearly unhittable. You'd think that would end sooner than later.

This is the most bi-polar team I have ever seen in Seattle. Sweep the Pads, get swept by the Stros. Lose to Cincy by 15 runs on Friday, beat them by 9 runs on Saturday.

When they're on they're one of the best teams in baseball.

When they're off they're atrociously bad.

16-8 in June, which included a 6 game losing streak.

Ichiro batted .429 for the month of June.

                            Both amazing.

I think the six-game losing streak was mainly a result of the team (and especially the bullpen) just being gassed from playing something like 32 games in 33 days and being on the road forever.

The M's starting rotation has been better lately. Not great, but it doesn't have to be great with this team. If they can get six semi-decent innings out their starter the Mariners will score enough to win more often than not.

I'd say Beltre is on fire.

                                6/6, 3hr's, 1bb, 6rbi's, 17tb in the last 1.5 games in Oakland.

I don't care if he's coming back from injury and on a small pitch count, it feels good to chase Harden so early for once.
